This is just a hare-brained theory based on my own reasoning, so take it with a grain of salt. I just thought other ladies on here would find it interesting.
Laying in bed early this morning, I was thinking about possible reasons for why the stats are showing that 3 months on the LE Diet is resulting in a higher percentage of successful pink sways than 6-8 weeks. I kept thinking about things that are 3 months long or take 3 months. Seasons popped into my head. Even in places where there aren't 4 distinct seasons, the crops that are available to eat change based on the time of year in predictable cycles.
Then it occurred to me that 3 months before conception is the exact same season/time of year that the baby will be born (an easy way to roughly estimate a due date is to count backwards 3 months + 1 week from conception).
What if our bodies take into account the last three months of diet/nutrition we've taken in because it is a probably a very good way to predict the nutrition we'll be getting during the first three months of baby's life? Of course, I have no suggestion for how this could possibly work, but it would provide an explanation for why, at least.

I believe that eggs take 90 days to mature so that might be part of the equation as well.

Could even explain WHY eggs take 90 days to develop - gives your diet at the time of conception enough time to make a difference, 9 months before you conceive, so that your baby is then born at the same time of year you conceived in (sorry if confusing, children are rioting)

I know that's the "reason" and I'm not arguing it at all, but I'm still wondering about the evolutionary "Why?" Why do eggs take 90 days to mature? There's likely a reason that specific amount of time is most advantageous for conceiving and birthing babies that continue on long enough to have their own offspring.

I think it makes perfect sense! Also might it explain the tendencies for more girls conceived in the spring months? A harsh winter preceding conception could favour a girl as she would be more likely to thrive. I just love all the theories and ideas behind the science of swaying!
