Hi,
I'm only about five weeks pregnant and unlike with my other pregnancies where I had moderate nausea straight from my BFP I don't really feel sick at all yet (yay!) I am however incredibly dizzy, if I turn my head I feel like I'm losing my balance and I feel like I'm on a boat even when sitting down. It's not just a low blood pressure thing cos it happens when I'm sitting or lying as well.
Anyway, I don't really mind but I am worried that it'll turn into extreme nausea in a week or so - it feels so odd to be so dizzy without being sick. Has anyone had this as an isolated thing?

sounds like vertigo- I had that(losing balance/falling over feeling) for about a month(happening several times a day sitting or standing)
. it can be due to dehydration. also maybe not enough potassium/electrolyites. I started drinking coconut water and it finally went away.

that is a feeling faint/ weak feeling. vertigo is a losing balance/elevator kind of feeling like you are standing/sitting and all of a sudden the world goes upside down lol. pretty crazy. I was standing holding onto the vaccuum one time about to start vaccuming and almost fell over because it did that and I lost my balance.

Ladies, dizziness is a sign of LOW IRON. It's really common in pregnancy and even more likely if you did LE diet beforehand. Low iron will also make your nausea worse, as can the 'wrong kind' of iron. Get it checked. Or just start taking some on top of your prenatal and if the dizziness improves within 24-48hrs then keep it up.

Ditto to the iron. I have low iron and the dizziness is insane.

Thanks for the replies, I hadn't even thought of iron and I am likely a bit depleted, given I'm still feeding an 11 month old as well. I also probably don't drink enough with this crazy muggy heat. It's strange though when you think you "know" what pregnancy is like then have a completely new symptom!

heat/dehydration is a cause of vertigo. I had mine when I was not prego or ttc. but yes dizziness(not vertigo/feeling of loss of balance)and feeling weak are signs of low iron. iron pills do get iron up but also cause constipation def. wouldn't want to top off what they already put in prenatals) a great kind that always gets my iron up during prego is floradix(plant based, easily absorbed,nn-constipapting) if you eat meat though some burgers should do the trick
