So here is a question for you experienced Mums. Did you have very similar pregnancies and have different genders? The reason I ask is that from reading a lot of forums it seems to me that a lot of us ladies appear to react more when pregnant with a certain gender. For example lots of ladies comment that they were very sick with their girls but not their boys, whilst lots of other had vice versa - suggesting that depending on our own body's make-up we react depending on hormones from boy/girl. I am interested to hear from people who have had very similar pregnancies but then different genders. Also is there anyone out there that has had NO morning sickness at all - same pregnancies and had mixed genders?
(I find this subject quite interesting and also I am on my third pregnancy. My first two were practically the same and the labour was exact and I have two boys. So far this pregnancy is only slightly different in that I have had the slightest bit of nausea for 2-3weeks, lol!) - just interested in your thoughts!

Yes, I have had 4 b pregnancies and 1 g pregnancy and in almost every way my girl pregnancy was similar to at least one of my boy pregnancies. The boy pregnancies all had individual differences, so while I had 5 different experiences, it did not seem to be related at all.
Example - one of my boy pregnancies I was barely sick at all, one I threw up daily, and then the others were in between.
With one of my boy pregnancies I was so tired I was actually scared to drive because I would fall asleep - this didn't happen with any of the others.
I had horrible migraines with 2 pregnancies, whereas with some of the others I didn't have any at all (I normally have them at least once a month).
One of my pg I was really bitchy. One I had super high anxiety. (and oddly, those kids are very emotional and very anxious, respectively.) None of the others.
Food cravings all over the map.
I BEG you not to read anything into symptoms. I've seen these threads come and go and they never amount to anything - there are no trends and people have ended up either upset over nothing or getting their hopes sky high (which I did with DS 3) based on symptoms.!!! i didn't have any ms at all with my first 4 pregnancy's which were all boys. My 5th pregnancy I felt sick a lot, was actually sick a few times and couldn't stand certain smells, I really thought it could be a girl but it was another boy. This pregnancy is very similar to the last, sickness and feeling sick till around 11 weeks and strong smells really made me feel sick too, This time I am told it's a little girl.
One of the differences is that I am not feeling any movements, I did early on with my boys but I have been told my plancenta is anterior which could be why. It was posterior with the boys as far as I can remember.
Also, I've had different cravings, with this one I've wanted to eat spicy foods all the time, not so many cravings with the boys.
I've also had more headaches with this pregnancy, where as my migraines cleared up when pregnant with my boys. My skin has also been very, very dry this time,
I think each individual pregnancy creates different symptoms in their own right, regardless of gender.Last edited by 5boysandcounting; February 19th, 2013 at 10:10 AM.

Nope I wouldn't trust symptoms there are meant people that have same press and different genders... I had three identical pregnancies and they were all boys... My mom had four identical press and she had 3 boys and a girl... My SIL had tw similar press and she had a boy and girl

Also, my mom said that her pregnancies with me and my sister were completely different from each other, total opposites in terms of symptoms. She was 100% convinced my sister was a boy, but nope, lol. I don't think you can go by symptoms at all.

I have two girls and a boy, in my case my girl pregnancies were very similar no nausea, only gained about 28 pounds the smell of certain foods made me sick but overall I was always in a good mood. My boy pregnancy was not great, I gained 55 pounds, I was very nausea especially at night, I was in a bad mood all the time and had a very short temper, and in the first trimester my skin broke out like crazy.

Thanks Ladies - don't worry, I am just genuinly interested in it. This is an opps pregnancy and I know in my gut its another boy anyway, so not getting my hopes up - especially as the symptoms are the same anyway. Was just interested in your responses. Many Thanks!! x
