I've always read that to sway boy, you should hold off on bding until right before O, but it seems like the general advice here is to Dtd every other day for boy....where as I've seen posts to only bd once for girl.
So I'm confused and not sure what I should be planning on doing.
For dd, we tried for a boy, waited for +opk, waited one day, then Dtd as much as possible until I got a -opk (happened on day 4, which was/is unusual for me).
Can someone clear this up for me? Also, if I am supposed to be holding off...even if its just a little, which condoms or other bc is not as "sperm dangerous" that might leave behind something that could sway girl? (I hope that makes sense).
I'm about 3 months out, so this is where it really starts. I'm taking my supplements, but having trouble getting the diet to match the boy model.

The general opinion around here is that more sperm = more boys, so the blue swayers will DTD every 2nd day to get DH to generate nice fresh lots of sperm of good quality, then when the +opk is seen DTD 3 times in 24 hours, this gives maximum amounts of sperm the chance to make it to the egg in the fertile window.
I would say use condoms until you are ready for your 1st attempt, then for the whole month of your attempt (from AF) dont use any protection at all.
The diet is quite important, so eating regularly and healthily is key, what exactly are you finding hard about it?

More just ideas on what to eat, really. I'm sort of a picky eater, and it's been hard for me to hit the veggie and fruit goal. I'm snacking on a lot of nuts, but I know I'm supposed to be eating more carbs with that, but it's just weird to eat bread/toast just for the sake of eating it. I am drinking more coconut water regularly....
My daily diet pretty much looks like:
Oatmeal or green smoothie for breakfast
Nuts and maybe some dates for lunch and small snacks (usually one snack before toddler nap and lunch/snack after nap), maybe a peanut butter sandwich
Dinner-various meals
Snack before bed, usually a nutriagrain bar, but trying to switch to larabars
I just don't eat a lot, and it's weird eating for the sake of eating. I'm okay with breakfast and dinner, it's the other times of day that I just don't know what to eat.

Try and get in lots of snacking, you don't have to have huge meals each time, just make sure there's a protein and a carb. Never feel hungry. Cheese and crackers is great, and the nuts and granola bars you are snacking on are perfect.

The best data we have indicate that timing does not sway in any way and that sperm count is what matters. So when you got your DD, you pretty much ensured that not very much sperm would be at the egg. You ovulate 8-48 hours after that first positive OPK regardless of how long your OPK stay positive after that. So by the time you started BD, the sperm still had to make it to the egg and capacitate and the egg was probably already ovulated at that point, so the earliest arrivals (which probably were few) hit the egg and fertilized it before any of the other sperm could have even arrived on scene. All the other swimmers were "wasted" because the first few had already done the job, if you follow me.
If you get non-spermicidal condoms and use Preseed as lube, that's a safe bc method when swaying blue.
My advice would be, once you are ready to start trying, have your husband release every 2-4 days in whatever fashion works for you, while you have a lot of O's if possible. Then once you're getting close to O (within 2-3 days of ovulation) go for 3-5 attempts, trying to get 3 of those attempts at or just after pos OPK - so one the night of pos OPK, one the next morning, the next the next night.!!! No, nuts are protein + carbs all on their own, so you don't need to eat extra protein.
You don't have to eat tons of food and be stuffed and miserable, you just need to eat small amounts regularly and try to have both protein and carbs at each meal and snack.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
