The general advice is to avoid calcium and magnesium and only take folate - I am taking 1200mg a day I think?

But you have to do what you feel comfortable with, so if you want to take calcium and magnesium, then you should take them.

Minimum is 600 mg. I'd say at least 1000mg though.

Most of us are avoiding prenatals for our pink sways because nutrients = more boys conceived.

The cal-mag is up to you, several of us got girls after dropping cal-mag and I don't think science supports the idea, but if you're a big believer in the idea then the recommendation is 1200 mg calcium, 200 mg magnesium (and if you get diarrhea then cut back to 100-150) The case against calcium and swaying is in these three essays http://genderdreaming.com/forum/tryi...roversial.html

All swayers should take 1200-1600 mg folic acid. Yes, this is more than the standard recommendation but we are not getting as much thru diet.
