Question about keflex antibiotic and ovulation

So I had lh surge last night which I'm hoping means ovulation will occur. However I woke up with a urinary tract infection this morning. Went to dr and he prescribed 1000 mg per day of an antibiotic called keflex. Just wondering if anyone knows if this will interfere with ovulation. Also wondering how much antibiotics sway boy. I'm hoping for a girl but have no choice but to take antibiotic. I know keflex is safe in pregnancy per my dr but just wondering if it would interrupt ovulation. I know atomic had told me that Advil could cause issues but not sure about antibiotic. Here's to hoping no issues to interrupt ovulation for me this month. Seems like every month I have some type of issue with illnesses. Grr.

Came to this website in September 2013 hoping to sway for a girl as we have none on either side of our families (6 boys total). Diagnosed in January 2014 elevated FSH level and extremely low AFC count. Praying and hoping God blesses me with one more healthy child whether it be another boy or a girl. Praying my RE can help me to achieve my dream of giving my son a sibling some time soon.

AFAIK it is fine to take antibiotic, it doesn't work like ibuprofin or higher doses of aspirin might in inhibiting ovulation.

If you've already surged, then it is fine for your sway too. I personally doubt that antibiotics sway much if at all but it is for sure fine at this point.

Thank you Atomic for replying and giving me the good info. I was wondering if antibiotics would sway at all being I'm already so close to ovulating or am ovulating after starting them. The only issue I'm worried about now is my dr told me I should take acidopholus and eat lots of yogurt. I read on here that sways boy. Although, in reality, I have picked up my yogurt intake a lot since reading up on swaying. I NEVER really eat any dairy at all aside from if I put half and half in a cup of coffee every couple of weeks. So I really am not a huge dairy person. I would love to take the acidopholus to prevent a yeast infection from the medication..but I'm too scared to do so b/c I know I've read you feel it sways more blue. Do you know of anything else I could use to prevent a yeast infection that wouldn't sway blue? After dtd so much the past week, I kind of already feel as if I have a YI coming on.

I would get some plain yogurt with active cultures and insert a little into the vajayjay like a douche. This is much more effective than eating/taking acidophilus anyway.

Thanks for the info. Had no idea about doing that with plain yogurt. Just wondering is that a one time thing to do or a few times for a couple of days? I swear this site teaches me so much! Thanks again.

Btw, love the pic of your little girl. She's adorable!

It works like magic too. For me it has only taken like 1-2 times and it cures it way better than the creams. I don't even know why they bother telling people to eat yogurt. The yogurt has to go all down your throat, thru your digestive tract, and then very slowly colonize the whole rear/bottom area (which seriously, EW!!) before it could possibly help. Whereas if you insert it, it's right where it needs to be immedicately.
