I do almost all of my kids' shopping online - no time for much less - but with holiday shopping this weekend, I'm in the stores with all the clothes I 'can't' buy. They're not nearly as cute as they should be for the longing & sadness I feel about them. WHY are kids clothes and toys so gendered? I purposefully buy both boy AND girl things whenever I can - yesterday it was cups - but it's ridiculous to me that the options are so gendered.
Also not looking forward to the holidays and family members' girls opening triple-girly-themed presents...
If I ever actually have a daughter I won't ever get over being 'able' to shop in the sections anyway. It's such a meaningless part of my desiring having a girl, but somehow it still hurts.

Totally understand what your saying. It really cuts deep. The options for boys are so limited, not sure why clothing and toy manufactures think my toddlers would want a talking, clothes wearing shark/truck/dinosaur!
Sigh!
And to top it off 3 days after I came back from a failed cycle a SART I had to attend my awful sister inlaws baby daughters christening!!
Grrrrr
Are you cycling now? I saw in a post you said November?

So sorry to hear about your cycle. And then going to that event...good willpower to get yourself there, mama. Yes, cycling now. I fluctuate between thinking it won't work to being glad at least that I have a chance.

I so know what you mean even though I have not hit the shops for Christmas yet. I was having coffee with the neighbour and she has a 2 1/2 year old girl and seeing her outfit triggered some GD emotions even though I would never dress my hypothetical daughter like that.
For Christmas our second cousins are coming this year and I have not seen them since I had the twins. One has a boy then two girls and the other a girl a bit younger than my twins. I am wondering how I am going to find that. My boys will still be the cutest though!DPs sons21 +

I know how you feel, totally. Sometimes it's the most ridiculous things that trigger GD. But yes, shopping is a big one. I am pregnant with my fourth boy, so I really do feel your pain! I am still hopeful for a girl one day...not sure how that will come about, but still hopeful.
I hope you get your baby girl one day, too!

Rainbow - Keeping hope is huge. I think you have just the right attitude.
Lucky - LOVED your post, it totally made me light up. I need to remember to be optimistic as much as I'm being realistic. If we're lucky enough to have an embie for a FET, we probably wouldn't FET until mid 2014, but big FX for both of us that we're on this site sometime next year with good news. As for your sister, a brand new baby seriously doesn't need gendered stuff IMO - I'd go for cute neutral toys as really, babies like the same toys! I'm doing this for a baby girl in our family this year...
123 - I LOVE your new picture, your boys are so adorable it's ridiculous! OMIG the twins...you must get stopped all the time, people looking at them. Excited for you that you're TTC!
Wishing - That will be my mantra for the next month(s)...it only takes one...it only takes one...
thank you all so much for the support and commiseration! That's it for shopping in person for me for this year - I need to stay positive these days!

Thanks Ocean, and goodluck with your HT journey. I am excited for you too. It feels right like I am meant to have 4 kids so looking forward to swaying and TTC but in the mean time going to give my twins some one on one time. I was stoaked to get this photo of them all. They just adore their big brother and it is the most precious thing in the world.
You should try super market shopping with my babies, I get stopped SO many times. It is lovely getting all the nice comments but frustrating if I'm in a hurry.DPs sons21 +
