    hormones and hair

just thought id get some opinions on what is happening in my body.
normally i am a moderately hairy person (compared to a lightly haired girl!). i have to bleach my mustache (im not a waxer just yet) weekly and do my eyebrows once a week.

by the end of one week my 'stache hairs are growing back dark and noticebly and i look like a wolf regarding my eyebrows.

lately (before starting any supps) ive noticed my 'stache hairs not growing dark as fast. i barely had anything to bleach last week and this week not one sign of a dark hair root growing (and i started L-arginine last week). eyebrows, i barely had to pluck last week but by this week i have to go in to the professionals.
ive been on a low carb diet just to lose weight before i start boy diet, only exercised once so far (weights) otherwise running around with the kids, eating healthier (salads and meats, barely any sugary things, but always a bit of chocolate). and stressed big time this month lots of things going on.

if i want to up my testosterone is this not a good sign? what hormones do you think are coming into play here?

just wondering where to start as far as how to judge what the hormones are doing before i start the boy diet.

Hmmm...excess testo usually shows in hair thinning on the head, acne, excess hair on face/chin that is usually dark....I would say that it sounds like your testo is returning to normal levels. I'm guessing this is not what you're looking for???

well im assuming i have low testosterone which is maybe why i have 2 girls. id like higher testosterone, yes. so you think testosterone returning to "normal levels" in my case is lower testosterone than what im hoping for?

I wouldn't assume that because you have 2 girls that you have low testo. My mom is prime example. Very high testo and 2 girls...and my close girlfriend who has 2 girls as well, with all of the high testo symptoms like yourself. If I wanted to be sure about hormone levels I would get a saliva check(blood isn't as accurate). I have normal testo levels and have 3 boys...I personally think that it's more of what you eat and less about estrogen/testosterone. JMHO

ive also recently started l-arginine (which i will post about my symptoms from it soon) but since i took that (even tho it was every 2 days up to every other day) my ovulation came a lot earlier than expected. so im wondering if the the increase in T that may have come from the l-arg pushed my O earlier....? i wonder if increase T = shorter cycles..?

just on a side nite for my 1st pg with DD, my facial hair carely ever grew. with 2nd DD pg it did as normal or more.

I suspect a combo of the dieting and the stress has slowed your hair growth. Don't panic, the boy diet will work for you.

FWIW I had a lot less body hair on the girl diet when I was TTC DS 4 (in fact I have had a hair on my chin since I was 18 and it went away and hasn't been back since) and he is still a boy!!

I tend to agree - it's prob not testosterone per se but FERTILITY that sways in some fashion and just that high normal T (not abnormally high T due to PCOS or taking steroids) tends to go hand in hand with optimal fertility. If a person has high T but no CM and their husband has a low sperm count, they're still going to be more likely to conceive girls.

Gizmo, I don't think you need to try to lower your testosterone and raising it is always a good idea if you want blue.

i defly am not trying to lower my T!!! im assuming ihave low testosterone so that is why im trying to increase it (but not tto much as you say!). in the example you used above, so youre saying that bc the husband has low sperm count it would make her more likely to have a girl regardless of the high enough T (in HER) for a boy..?

Yes, that is how I understand it too. But if you have lots of EWCM that sways blue big time.
If you want to make sure your DH produces enough sperm, then give him 50 mg Zinc daily, vit C and for sperm motility ( which seems to play bigger role than sperm count) Co-Enzyme Q-10 100 mg/day (warning: it's VERY expensive) I'm giving all the above mentioned to my DH (+ l-carnitine, FA,......), it's almost not affordable but wth, I've already spent a fortune on supps, and if this one is going to do it, it's worth it ( I guess?)
