I am new here and I have just started reading various posts and I have noticed, sadly, that a surprising number of the moms who are swaying have had miscarriages in the path to getting a baby of the desired gender. Perhaps I just haven't realized how common miscarriages occur, but it just seemed like a lot of the women posting here have lost a baby. Does anyone know if certain swaying tactics increase the chances of miscarriage?

Is Swaying Safe?

There is always a chance of miscarriage. I swayed, got my desired gender, and never had a miscarriage. I know several people with the same story. If you want to get pregnant, swaying or not, there's a chance of miscarriage; it increases with age.

I think it's just that there isn't a lot of talk about miscarriages. Unfortunately I know quite a few ladies that have experienced miscarriages without swaying. I myself have had a miscarriage and I hadn't ever heard of swaying.

My gender dreaming success arrived safe July 2015.He is a complete dream come true and an absolutely beautiful little boy.
A huge thank you to Atomic for all her encouragement when I was up against things out of my control and ready to chuck it in. I can never thank you enough. Thank you also to all the other knowledgeable and ever supportive ladies that have helped and encouraged me. I truly believe my dream would not have come true without this site, my boy gender plan and the incredible love and support.

I think swaying is totally safe & Atomic's scientific research into her recommendations is brilliant. Despite swaying ds3 joined us at Christmas & unfortunately has a cows milk protein allergy through my breastmilk. I was quite hurt when my Mum innocently wondered if 'the diet' before I conceived had anything to do with it! It may seem like a strange way for us natural boy mums to eat but it's not unhealthy. We are a lot more aware of our fertility when ttc with paying such close attention to opks etc & whereas a chemical may go unnoticed irl they 'seem' fairly prevalent here. I honestly think that's down to perception - I'd never even heard of one before this site! As for my son's allergy, I'm far more certain that if anything's to blame it could be the 'flu jab or whooping cough jab that I had at 28 weeks pg.

You answered it yourself - miscarriages are just common, and we now have early tests that allow us to be more aware of them than ever. Girl swayers may appear to have more miscarriages than boy swayers, simply bc it often takes them longer to conceive.
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

Atomic has an essay on this (long), which is here:
http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...tml#post402053
In my personal experience, (I have had many miscarriages) I don't see any link between what I've done to sway and my losses. I've been pregnant nine times and had six losses. I've swayed for four pregnancies, and two were chromosomally abnormal, one ended in what was possibly a CVS-related loss, or was possibly due to unknown causes, and one (my current pg) is going well so far. Without swaying, I've had five pregnancies, the first two of which (when I was younger) resulted in my two healthy daughters, and the others were either proven chromosomally abnormal or most likely chromosomally abnormal.
It's too few pregnancies to draw any conclusions, but it does not seem like my miscarriage rate has increased due to swaying. It does seem to me that either the quality of my eggs or of DH's sperm has decreased since I've gotten older. I'm 39, and clearly do have some sort of issue with normal chromosomes in my eggs/embryos. If anything swaying seems to have *helped* with this, since I take CoQ10 while swaying now, and have conceived chromosomally normal babies while taking it.
If you are worried about pregnancy loss, I'd seriously consider getting a personalized plan from Atomic, since she can give you suggestions about what you can do to maximize egg quality and your overall health while swaying. If you're swaying pink she can also help you figure out how to do some of these things (which do tend to sway blue) while also keeping up a pink sway overall (that is, how to balance the two in a way that feels comfortable for you).

My first two losses were related to a blood clotting disorder and the last one was a neural tube defect. I did happen to miscarry every time I did anything to sway and successfully carry the babies I didn't sway for, but we know now that was purely coincidence! I would hate for someone to assume swaying was what caused the miscarriages.
I'm hesitant to say swaying is 100% safe because we just can't know, but I don't believe it is any more dangerous than hundreds of other things women do without a second thought while TTC or pregnant.2007

I can't say strongly enough how I would not be involved with this if I felt it was unsafe and that safety is my first consideration above all else. I have done everything in my power to take swaying from a place where it was dangerous and I believe was causing a considerable amount of losses to a place where losses are much more in line with normal. I don't totally discount the idea that swaying may contribute to a higher rate of loss among pink swayers (and do please read the article where I take the variables one by one and consider them) but I am 1 million % convinced that swaying on LE Diet is much safer than the mineral balancing and pH based diets and I think our rates of losses back that up.!!!
