    Not pregnant after 3 months

I am breastfeeding my 11 month old and finally got my first PP cycle in June. I had a chemical pregnancy the first month, and have made 2 more attempts both resulting in BFN. I am getting positive ovulation tests and a period like clockwork 2 weeks later so it seems like everything is working fine. Around ovulation time I get very noticeable cramps and EWCM so all signs point to an actual ovulation. My first 2 cycles were about 45 days but my most recent one was about 30 days so it seems like my body is finally settling into its usual pattern.

Do you think the breastfeeding is somehow preventing me from getting pregnant? I am only using one attempt and no jellies or anything of that sort. The most recent time I didn't even use anything to dry up CM. I was hoping to be pregnant by now and I don't know what else to do. I got pregnant with my first son on our first month trying. My next pregnancy took 9 months to conceive but the issues were attributed to the depo provera shot. I ended up with a MMC but conceived the very next cycle before my period even returned. If I am not pregnant in the next few months I will be TTC at the same time my other 2 sons were conceived, and I would like to avoid having 3 kids with back to back birthdays right before the holiday season!

Swaying girl decreases your chance of getting pregnant. I assume you're doing the LE diet right?

Both my boys were oopsies after DTD twice in the fertile window and that's it, but my lifestyle was very boy friendly which increases fertility.

But here I am 5 cycles later of TTC a girl and still NOT pregnant. My cycles are perfect, I ovulate on the same day each month and have a regular period every month. I've been charting off and on for years so I know my cycle. I just think it takes a lot of us a while when swaying for a girl, which is a good think since decreased fertility sways girl. A lot of the opposites I've seen got pregnant on the first try.

My best friend swayed for a girl with me and it took her 7 months to finally get pregnant. With her two boys it took 1-2 cycles each.

It can take fully fertile couples doing nothing to sway 3-6 months to get pregnant.

I 110% do not think breastfeeding is keeping you from getting pregnant. IF that were the case your LP would be short.

Yes I am doing the LE diet and exercise so I guess that probably isn't helping my fertility! I guess that is part of the reason I am frustrated after only 3 months, I am ready to quit exercising and eat what I want haha.

I am glad it is not the breastfeeding. I would never wean just to get pregnant, but it would ease my mind if I knew there was a logical reason behind it. I guess we will just keep at it and see what happens!

Glad to know I'm on the right track with you ladies! I have also been tracking cycles/ovulation since my period returned this spring. They started at 28 days and o seemed to occur 14 days in. Every month since then they've lengthened to O at 23 or 24 days and AF at 37-40 days. We had 1 attempt 2 weeks ago and I was disappointed to start AF yesterday. Which also happened to be my annual exam with my ob/gyn. He is an AMAZING Dr/person, ( & yes I have a little crush. He helped me get my vbac and my husband also has a man crush on him any way I told him we want another and all the cycle tracking and breastfeeding. We also got pregnant 1st trys with both boys. Even though we've only had 1 attempt it was a different feeling then our past of instant pregnant. I just tuRed 30 which doesn't stress me out and he is not concerned(he and his ob wife had children in their mid/late 30s). But he did want to do blood work on 3rd day of cycle(tomorrow). He told me that sometimes your body can send all right hormones out and give pos opk and not actually release an egg. He also poked a little about my weight and told me he doesn't think I'm malnourished but told me it wouldn't hurt to gain 5 lbs I thought that was funny considering the swaying. Seems I'm doing it right to conceive a girl so far he told me not to stress which I only half am. I do think I can get pregnant it just feels bad with my long cycle I get Only 9 chances a yr!

Sounds like we are in the same boat Emilee! I was having 40-45 day cycles at first and I remember thinking the same thing as you, now I have fewer months to conceive this year .

I think it is interesting that your doctor said all signs can point to ovulation but your body might not release an egg. I wonder if there is any way to tell for sure other than some type of bloodwork? Hopefully you can get some answers from your doctor.

I spoke with my doctor over the phone and he wanted me to come in and talk to an RE about my crazy cycles and getting some medicine, but I never did. I don't think the nurse told my doctor that I am breastfeeding, and I feel like the RE would just tell me to wait until I have weaned. Hopefully we can both get some BFP's soon!

Yes JP2007! We even have boys born in the same yrs
You could always ask about the medicine they want to put you on and do more research.
I'll let you know what the results are of my blood work. I believe I'll have to go in for a few more blood draws though out my cycle so they get all the hormone level reads. I'll keep you posted!

It is true that your body can gear up to release an egg and therefore you'll get a +opk and then it's possible to not actually ovulate. The only way to know for sure if you O'd is to chart and see if you have a sustained temp rise. If you do, then you did indeed ovulate. So if your getting a biphasic chart every month then yes, you are indeed ovulating.
