Really torn between FR and abstaining...

Hi Everyone!

I've been doing the LE diet for the last couple of months.
As soon as AF is over, on the 17th, I'm going to start using Rephresh every 3 days. My original plan was to have my husband do FR the 17-21 and begin FBD on the 22nd through O, which should be the 26th or 27th. I just bought zyrtec and low-dose aspirin today and plan to use those the week we BD. I've been taking folic acid for 3 weeks, but stopped my other supplements (calcium, magnesium, cranberry), as I had a bout of BV and thought maybe I lowered my ph too much and it backfired on me by rising.
I've been doing lots of reading and am now feeling torn between having my husband do FR or abstaining leading up to O and just go for one attempt right before O. We have two wonderful sons and this is likely our last child, so I am really hoping for a girl.
It's been so helpful to read all of your advice and plans!

From stats they both have the exact same amount of pink babies being created from them or at least the exact same percentage personally I would think about what's best for you and hubby. I know atomic doesn't advise abstaining if hubby is over a certain age (possibly 35 but best check!). Good luck with your sway. Fwiw when hubby and I sway I plan to do fr with one attempt at pos opk xx

if your husband is over 35 do FR, if he's under 35, flip a coin and do what the coin says.

Above all else, I do not recommend frequent BD thru O (it can sway pink but I just don't feel it's as reliable) and recommend you stick with the one attempt.

Thanks so much to both of you! My husband will be 35 in November, so still under 35. Mulberry Smurf, I like your plan and am going to go with that as well. Atomic, I'm so impressed with this site and the number of couples you've helped!

Just one more question: When you say positive OPK, does that mean when your ovulation kit shows an LH surge? I bought some ovulation predictor tests, but am not sure if getting a positive means I should have my one attempt that same day or wait a day- the following day would be ovulation, right? Thank you!!!

positive OPK means LH surge. it's the best odds of conception with one attempt and that's why we recommend it for pink.

Good luck!!! your lh surge may be somewhere around 12-48 hours before ovulation depending on your cycle but the swimmers should be able to hang around until needed! Xx

Please to not do frequent BD! I bd through O and got a boy even with a super strict diet and sway!! Please do one attempt!!!

yup I also did FBD...got three boys. I am doing one attempt at postive opk and that is it.
