    Diet & cardio plan

Hi mamas. I'm brand new and have been pouring over this forum for hours (and hours) on end, trying to soak it all up.
I and hoping to do le and cardio, and am wondering how long keeping it up for is ideal?
I have 4 boys - 19, 14, 2 and 3 mos. I am still breastfeeding and have no plans to stop. My cycle has not returned and with ds3 it came back at 9 mos pp.
I am planning to try and find vitex, I'm hoping that Maybe it will start my cycle back up.... I don't feel time is on my side since I'm 38 is like to not just sway pink, but speed it all up.
The catch is I'm hoping I can get it back for October.... I can see me dietin and out there speed walking fall, late fall, early winter but I cAnt see being successful in -30C, 2 feet of snow on the streets, and let's not even talk about holiday eats. So ultimately I'm thinking of starting the diet and exercise early, but don't know how long I should try and keep it up (because if af doesn't come, I'll stop over the winter most likely).
Also what else are you ladies doing for cardio for 60 mins? I will not be going to a gym or purchasing expensive equipment.

I believe 12weeks is the optimal time to be on the diet and exercise. You can walk, run or do at home exercise videos with no equipment. 😀

Thank you ladies - Is there a lot of harm on being on it for longer? I am thinking of easing into it, to make it easier to follow when it counts. I'm also wondering if vitex can help get my period back so I can get my arse in gear with my final baby.

I've been on it for 6 months now and many have been on it for longer, as most of us don't get PG first attempt, so it's likely you'll be on it longer anyway. 😊

Ok I'm going to start easing I I it. My fitness pal to lose 1 pound a week says 1200 cals, but I'm breastfeeding so I'm thinking 1700-1800. I think I'll still do weights for now, really keeps metabolism up and get rid of as much flub as possible and then switch over to cardio for 60 mins a day, 6 days a week in a month or 2.

I think we talked about this in another thread but no vitex with BF a 3 month old.

Bollywood and Zumba are good workout videos and if you can't find one that goes 60 mn. or more, you can run two back to back.

No, no harm in it altho after 3-6 months (depending on the quality of your diet) you will want to add in a zinc 8-15 mg 3x a week, use iodized salt or iodine supp 150 IU daily, if you have real heavy periods or are not ever eating any meat cheats, iron 18-30 mg 3x a week, and if not eating any animal products (dairy, eggs, meat cheats) then take one of whatever lowest dose B12 you can find once per week.

My fitness pal has ridiculously low calorie levels. Most of us would dry up and blow away at 1200 cals a day.
