So back when I was about 5 or 6 dpo I had extreme back and chest pain and had an X ray done. Obviously I hadn't implanted yet but the egg was fertilized and on its way. Think the X ray did any harm? I did use a shield over my belly but I'm still nervous about it. Anyone else have an xray in early pregnancy? Was your baby okay? ?

It's never ideal of course, but the way my doctor explained it was bad stuff at that early stage of development and it's kind of all or nothing. If something went wrong then, it would be in all the cells, all the tissues, incompatible with life kind of thing. That you went onto have implantation then that indicates nothing negative happened.

Thanks atomic. I looked further into as well and since it wasn't of my abdomen exposure was more than likely to low to ha e made any impact at all.

I got forced into one of those body scanners at 12 weeks pregnant (they didn't have a female TSA on duty to do a patdown at 4 am and I was threatened with arrest if I refused; complaint now filed with PDX). I contacted my doctor when my flight landed and after researching he emailed me back and said it should be fine and not to go through again, but did a detailed ultrasound when I got back from my vacation and things looked okay at this time. They'll be doing detailed scans periodically to check from now on, but said one-time x-ray exposure is not enough to cause harm.
