I have been attempting to get my head into the PCOS LE and am struggling with all the counting and keeping track. I think for me the most important thing is to lose weight so I am looking at the vegetarian slimming world plan (see link)
Lose weight in a week with Slimming Worldâ
Is there anything I can or miss out that will sway more pink or is this just a very boy friendly diet?
I am happy to skip breakfasts as I usually do anyway.
Thank you
S x

It can absolutely work and I think for anyone who is heavyset esp. with PCOS the most important thing is the weight loss aspect. Do be careful as some weightloss diets get tons of calories from carbs though and that is not gonna help you lose weight and will also aggravate your PCO tendencies. I would be very wary of the recipes that are very beany and pasta-y because those have a lot of carbs (seems like several of their recipes are quite carb heavy)

Ok so less beans and pasta.. Should I substitute it for whole grain pasta or just go for a rice-y dish? Do carbs stop you losing weight or sway boy? And can I just confirm, is it ok to eat the vegetables and fruit? Best to stick to certain types? I will skip brekkie and have 2 meals plus 1 snack I think.
Thank you AS for sharing all your wisdom sorry for all my questions!! XTough times don't last,

Can I just check, when we say less beans, is that like kidney beans or baked beans or just all beans? lol silly question I expect!
I am also finding work to be very stressful even upsetting at times, is this likely to affect my sway if it continues? Hopefully it will not but I am in quite a stressful job at times!! XTough times don't last,

IT depends. With PCO tendencies we have had good luck with wholegrains but of late we've seen some nice results with people going totally gluten free too (eating just rice, even white rice) so this is one that I honestly don't ahve the data to answer.
Carbs can stop you losing weight and sway boy if you have PCOS or insulin resistance. Most people who are quite a bit overweight DO have some tendencies in that direction and so it's better to eat a bit less carbs and get more cals from fat and protien (not many more, but somewhat more) I ahve a full explanation of that here http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...rt-3-pcos.html
WHen you have the option, you can select lower nutrient fruit and veg BUT remember, it's fine to continue to eat fruit and veg with higher nutrients in in and in fact you SHOULD to be sure you are getting enough nutrients.
Low carb veg - unlimited and have as much as you want, do not count
fruit and high carb veg - count only calories, they have no pro or fat to concern yorself with!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Not sure if it helps with LE, but I've always found Weight Watchers to be very helpful in losing weight! Without it, I'm 5'7 and was 142, on it I'm 123, sometimes have been as low as 117. I have PCOS, but I am such a control freak about diet that I've been able to lose weight and keep it off with WW, i find WW a lot less work. I also prefer the original plan Momentum, and I put my limit at 15 points (this gives me a buffer, since some things like a glass of wine are probably more points then I'm tracking, so I most likely am getting in my 20 points. Best of luck!!!

When I properly diet I tend to lose weight relatively easily but I struggle with resisting temptation! I have lost weight with weight watchers but got a bit obsessive with calculating points which I don't think benefits a girl sway!?
I'm gonna have a look for an app that I can record what I eat and it keeps a count of protein, carbs, cals etc so that I can track a little easier and become more aware of what I am eating.Tough times don't last,
