    Hormonal supplements for boy sway

Hi all! DH and I have been TTC since October when I went off Seasonale BC. Since my withdrawl bleed in October I haven't had a period or O yet. My body will gear up for O, and I'll get a positive OPK, but no temp spike to confirm O. I'm currently on CD 122. I had some spotting in early January, but not enough to wear anything other than a panty liner one day. My doctor said that its probably just my body still trying to get balanced after BC, but others are encouraging me to go to the doctor.

My question is, I know Vitex sways pink and since I'm attempting to sway blue, are there any supplements that can help balance my hormones and still away blue? I am also wondering if just going to my OBGYN and getting something to jumpstart period, but no clomid (I know that sways pink as well). I guess...what would anyone else do in my position? I've tried to be patient and positive, but CD122 makes that kind of hard.

hopefully atomic will be able to come and answer your question, but I imagine that in the meantime just looking after yourself and your health should help bring AF back. I always find hanging out with other ladies my age helps too lol xx

I want you to drop the green tea supps you are taking and go to your doctor to get something to bring on AF. No hormonal supps, I think they will be throwing fuel onto a fire right now.

Thanks so much for your response, Atomic! I went to my general physician in early January and she just kind of acted like it was my body coming off of hormones, which I agreed with. She did have an ultrasound done though and they found one larger cyst on my left ovary, but again, nothing she seemed concerned about. However, since then, I still haven't had a period or O. The past 3 months my body would gear up for O, but wouldn't do anything. This month, my body felt the same way (cramps, watery CM), but no positive OPK and now I'm back to sticky CM. So, that was weird. However, my BBT temps DID seem to level out more this month. So maybe just a jump start on a period will be the ticket? Fingers crossed!

And I JUST started the green tea supplements over the weekend so I've only taken two, but I'm glad I asked! I will stop them immediately! I have an appointment now for next week, so hopefully there are more answers!

EDIT: Do you think soy iso would help in this situation as well, Atomic? I'm going to go to the doctor before starting any more supplements (besides my prenatals), but just thinking ahead?

I would do a round of Provera to bring on another bleed and see if that resets things for you. That is very likely what your dr would eventually prescribe anyway. In the meantime I'd make sure you're eating plenty of healthy fats (red meat, eggs, whole dairy, butter, olive oil, coconut oil) which may help boost hormone levels.

I hope O returns soon, I can only imagine your frustration.

    My Ovulation Chart
currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP

TTC #1 - swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!

Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic

Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

That's what I'm hoping for, maidentomother, so I'm glad you think that will be the course of action! I was hoping this month my body would figure it all out after the past three month of good tries, but this month feels even more weird. I've had lower ovary cramps for about a week, but CM went back to sticky, and no +OPK where in previous months I would at least get a positive. Fingers crossed that I get a restart!

Interestingly enough, I had a temp spike of 97.7 this morning (it will be CD26 from my first day of "spotting" in early Jan). I'll keep my eye on it the next two days to see if it stays raised! DH and I didn't BD enough at all to be in it for the 2WW this month, but that's okay as I'm starting the HE diet now and hopefully we'll be ready next month and this was my body getting back on course!

You should not do soy iso in this situation at all. They will REALLY delay O when taken at the wrong part of the cycle.

NO matter what, after 120 days without AF if you haven't been pg or lactating you NEED to have a bleed just for your general health and wellbeing so I really hope you do the PRovera. We have seen it happen many times that Provera is just perfect for this situation, it acts as a "kickstart" on your cycle and things tend to get going again after that.

CAn you please give me a list of whatever (if any) supplements you are on?? Sometimes I find that people are taking a laundry list of stuff, some of which can really delay or stop ovulation and it's better to not be taking them

Also - does your multivitamin have megadoses particularly of any B vitamins??? those can also delay/stop O.

    Hormonal supplements for boy sway

I'm hoping by going in they will give me a kickstart (unless this temp spike sustains and I just O'ed on my own!). I was hoping that's what my general doctor was going to do in early January when I went in after 100+ days, but no dice. Hopefully my body just did it on its own!

I currently only take a prenatal vitamin is all. I've been researching a lot, but never pulled the trigger to begin anything else (thankfully!). My prenatal breaks down as such:

    Vitamin A: 4000IU 50%
    Vitamin C: 120mg 200%
    Vitamin D: 400IU 100%
    Vitamin E: 30IU 100%
    Thiamin 1.8mg 106%
    Riboflavin (B-2) 1.7mg 85%
    Niacin 20mg 100%
    Vitamin B6 2.6mg 104%
    Folic Acid 800mcg 100%
    Vitamin B-12 8mcg 100%
    Calcium 200mg 15%
    Iron 28mg 156%
    Zinc 25mg 167%

EDIT: I should also add that my BC was a 3 month cycle, so I've only gotten a period once every three months. I'm assuming that's the biggest culprit for no O, but it's been 4 months so far and nothing. I do feel 100% better after stopping BC though!

I am quite happy with your prenatal, nice amount without megadoses.

would also suggest an additional vit. D supp to get you up to 1000 IU range (so a 500 or 700 are both ok, going over or under the 1000 a bit is fine) Most of us need it at this time of year anyway (seeing you are in Iowa there and it's the dreary time of year) this is safe during pregnancy and more and more docs are recommending it.

If you don't have thyroid issues, you can also add in 150 IU iodine (and if you can find the kind that is NOT kelp, I'd go with that.) every day and continue this during pregnancy.

I agree this is probably the BCP playing tricks on us and I think the PRovera will set things to rights.
