Everything triggers it now and I'm just not dealing well with it.
I went to the photography shop to pick up my family xmas cards and there were two pigeon pair families waiting to get their pictures taken. Of course the boys were wearing the little forgettable outfits lazy uncreative designers think we want to dress our boys in and the girls were all dolled up in cute dresses. I knew that would happen because the same thing happened last week when we had the actual pictures taken and then the next night when we went to parents' night at my younger son's preschool we were again the only all-boy family. Out of a class of twenty!
It doesn't seem like 25% of families are like mine. It seems like I'm really the "odd man out."
For a while it bothered me less but now it's really bothering me. I guess it's just the holidays coming, seeing more advertisements, dealing with my nostalgia, etc.

I so get you. Christmas shopping is also a nightmare. Oh let's go pick out your pretty dolly. Hmph. Not that my boys can't have dolls of course but don't show much interest in them despite pink being my eldest's favourite colour - he prefers a pink race car lol hugs for you. You aren't alone on here
so many all single gender families to moan along with you lol xx

I understand. It seems like everyone has at least one of each and it stings. I've actually had to unfollow people on Facebook because pictures of their little girls just make my GD worse (yes I'm petty).
I almost get annoyed seeing all the cute frilly Christmas dresses this time of year, especially when there's way more holiday clothing for girls than there is for boys! It's always so hard to find a good selection of clothes for my boys for our Christmas pictures. Every year I've been spoiling my niece at Christmas because it's just so fun to buy girly toys and clothes since I don't really ever get to (although my boys do like to bake and play with dolls). This year I have two nieces to spoil but of course it's still not quite the same as having my own daughter.'12

I will tell you though - I look at some of my friends who chose not to go on having kids to get a girl and have 2 or 3 boys and stuck with that, and they have so much more $$$ to enjoy their boys than I do. It did me no good in the Scrooge department to get a girl because I have no cash to shop with. :/ I see their boys doing all this fun stuff and getting spoiled with lots of neat toys and I look around and sigh. I wouldn't trade any of my kiddos, but just that even getting my DG didn't work out the way it was in my dreams.
