    Does adrenaline / panic sway?

    So I had got my anxiety under control towards the end of last year, and then this month we have been plagued by really bad chest infections, emergency night time docs etc, I've been really ill as well as the boys and it's sent me spiralling again. Last night I was in A and E because I had a bad reaction to the antibiotics I'm taking and my BP was high. Today I just feel like I have adrenaline coursing thru my veins and we are supposed to be doing or first attempt in a little over two weeks! Health wise I'll be fine now I've been taken off the meds but my question is, will all this stress and panic make my testosterone levels soar and should we hold off a month do you think? Or can it signal to my body that times are tough and hence sway pink? DH really wants to start trying as he's conscious of time and age gaps (we are both almost 35). Thanks in advance!

    On the plus side I've not eaten much the past two weeks since being ill....

    obviously this is just based on a sample size of 1...but I was accidentally doing everything (diet wise) to sway pink but ended up blue...one of the factors that I think led to this is that I was under a lot of stress at the time and my testosterone must have been high. That's just me though so maybe canvass a few more opinions xx

    Thanks, pinkfairydust. I was extremely stressed when I conceived ds1, less so wig ds2. Unfortunately I've suffered with anxiety and panic most of my adult life so I don't know a way round it really. Ah well!!

    Just been reading an interesting study which suggests adrenaline actually impedes testosterone production. I'm wondering if maybe the kind of blind panic stress has a different effect from crazy work stress where you are racing round under a load of pressure to get stuff done? Or am I just grasping at straws?! (Probably )

    First of all, being stressed has been shown in studies to sway PINK, not blue. We call it "stress" sometimes when we talk about swaying and say to avoid it, but it really means "avoid being a control freak about stuff". It's not stress that's the issue, it's the control-freak-ish-ness that sways.

    Secondly, testosterone has never even been proven to sway anyway. Several things have come to light in my research that have shed some doubt on the whole idea (starting with the fact that women have a miniscule amoutn of testosterone) and so I really don't want you guys to obsess too much over "testosterone".

    I have seen lots of people think they need to hold off and end up with a boy anyway. For all we know, this may be the universe or God's way of giving you a helping hand and I wonder sometimes if we don't outwit ourselves by trying to wait for a perfect month, when it very well may be that this IS the perfect month!!

    YES YES YES it does. EXACTLY!!!!!

    The month I got my daughter we had been in the emergency room with my 4th son for breathing issues too. It was terribly stressful. I do think it may have helped sway pink.

    I want you to feel the way you feel right now (or last night or whenever you were all stressed out.) Now compare that to the feeling you get when you're organizing something that's very important to you, like a big fancy once in a lifetime Christmas dinner for your whole family, or a superinvolved work project, something like that. You may feel "stressed out" over cooking the dinner or doing the project for work, it may take you a month to organize and require sleepless nights and a lot of work and running around all over town shopping or going to Kinkos, but it's really kind of a pleasant sensation. IT's fun. Even when it doesn't all go right, it's fun. Going to the emergency room, being sick, etc etc etc that is NOT fun. It's not enjoyable, it's not within your control, it's not the same thing at all!!! It's not something you can "knock it out of the ballpark" and succeed at, success is like "I didn't die". That's not a "WIN", it's a "barely endured" sitch.

    ^^^ Well said! I agree 100%! The stress we talk about that sways blue is trying to do things perfectly, micromanaging, and trying to control things beyond our control. The stress you've been under with your anxiety and other health issues does not sway blue. These are things beyond your control and in know way could you ever control. This sways pink. I wouldn't skip this month. I would let it be and see what happens.

    Yes, that's kind of what I thought!! No it was totally different to the goal-oriented madness sensation - purely blind panic is way less pleasant!! Thanks guys, you really are amazing.
