I don't think so, just whatever you usually use. I found it hard to find applicator tampons with out a cardboard applicator, which made it impossible to get it in once soaked in lime..

I used regular size tampon.Most companies in the US have plastic aplicators like Tampax and Kotex.

I think it's best to use the smallest size possible to reduce the risks of toxic shock syndrome. Even if you use the "junior" ones. Every little bit of surface area on the tampon can grow bacteria and that is what causes toxic shock.
Always use plastic applicators because like the PP says, the cardboard ones fall apart.
