Hi ladies! I am brand new to the site and have never posted before! However, I'm struggling with my girl sway and would love some advice.
Ok so I have been on the LE diet for 10 weeks. Today is CD13 and I was starting to have ovulation signs (minor cramping, creamy cm, increased libido.) We DTD tonight because we "felt" ovulation coming on and wanted to get ahead of a positive OPK test to achieve a 2-3 day cut off. My goal was to limit our frequency to one attempt. But now I am starting to worry that I jumped the gun and did it too early. My FF tracker says I will likely ovulate on day 17 of my cycle... but my cycles are irregular and my body was telling me ovulation was coming on sooner, so I just went for it. Now I am concerned that If I don't get a positive test tomorrow or the day after that our attempt will not be close enough and will otherwise hurt our frequency plan.
Any suggestions on what my back up plan should be if I don't get a positive OPK tomorrow? Would a second attempt as soon as I get a positive OPK hurt our girl sway or should I try for a O+12... ? is 3.5 days before O just too far off to get pregnant?
Thank you!
Update: I ended up getting a positive OPK on my monitor and on the cheapies this morning (morning of day 14)!! we DTD on day 13 at 9pm... so does that put me at a 2 day cut off ? Hopefully we got the timing right on this attempt!

Timing doesn't sway so the general belief here is not to try for cut off or timing but to have one attempt in your fertility window. An attempts cd13 with a positive cd14 is good but I am concerned you said you tested OPK in the morning. I am not sure what monitor you use, but the cheapie OPKs you should not be using morning urine as it can give you a false positive. You should be using afternoon urine with most cheapie brands. If this cycle doesn't get you a BFP, next cycle don't try to predict O or time your attempt like that. Just wait till you get a +OPK and then do the deed at first +OPK.

Thanks so much for your response! Yeah I am a little concerned CD 13 might be a little too soon if I ovulate on CD 15. Im using a clear blue fertility monitor which gave me 3 days of Highs before getting my peak sign. Both my I have been doing the cheapies in the am and in the afternoon bc I read that you could sometimes miss your peak window by only doing a morning urine.
Now Im thinking I might try to throw in a 0+12 to make sure I get pregnant... what do you think? would an O+12 plus one attempt on CD 13 still sway girl?
Im 30 yrs old btw and have two babies (boy and girl) who I conceived on the first attempt each time without using any OPK's. Hoping fertility is on my side!

Hi and welcome!!
It's always your choice to do timing or not - totally at your discretion - but you can see the downsides here. It's just really hard when your cycle is irregular to pin it down. The symptoms can tell you that things are happening, but many of us will get symtoms for 5-7 days before O and that's obviously gonna be too far out.
It does sound like it has worked out for you this month - good luck!
Re O+12 - my advice is to stick with the one attempt if you can stand it and not go for O+12. Our results have shown pretty definitively that one attempt is best, and since O+12 does not work anyway (and when done properly makes it really tough to conceive, as well) I hate to see anyone adding in O+12 because if you O later than you think, you can inadvertently end up having 2 attempts without reliably helping boost your odds of conception. At such a point in time that you are ready to improve odds of conception, we can add attempts, but I just am wary of the temptation to rely on cutoff + O+12 when you may be undermining your sway for something that doesn't work (most of us on here have 2-3-4 or more timing opposites) and won't reliably boost your chances of conceiving.!!! THank you so much atomic! I need to get the old thinking of timing out of my head for next month. But hopefully we get lucky and it worked this month! Today got my second peak on my clear blue fertility monitor and the cheapies are still posotive but starting to fade out. My husband is leaving to go out of town so your advice on not doing 0+12 is saving me from begging him to stick around haha! Thanks again! Fingers crossed!
