Latest you can ovulate after +opk?

So I clearly had a +opk Christmas Day, had our attempt that night. Had EWCM that day and the 26th, then it trailed off.
However, my temp didn't spike until today, the 29th. Wondering what's that about...seems a few days late?
Typically doesn't Ovulation come the day or at latest 2 days after +opk?

On average, yes, but what can happen is that your body can get set to O and then decide to wait a day or two or three after that.

OR, it can also happen that your temp takes a bit longer to go up, OR one temp was a fluke temp and lower than it "should" have been because you slept with your mouth open or something.

To answer your question, you can actually ovulate weeks or months after a positive OPK!! pos OPK is not a guarantee that ovulation will occur, all it does is register a surge of hormone that triggers ovulation. This surge can actually happen repeatedly and only when your body decides that the time is right, will an egg show up. So most of the time, yes, it's within 12-48 hours, but sometimes it's longer. (OPK - they totally suck but they're all we have!!)
