Don't look up any more odds. They don't tell you ANYTHING about your personal chances and most of the people who are doing these type of meds are doing so because they have serious fertility issues and not someone who just had a baby within the past couple years! It skews the odds because many of the women taking the medication have a very slim chance of conceiving to begin with.

There is a huge difference between being a poor responder with IVF and not being able to conceive naturally, though.

To conceive naturally, we only need one little egg every month! That's all. But for IVF you need your body to be able to make dozens of viable eggs. It's two totally different sets of circumstances and people who can't succeed with IVF can and DO get pregnant all the time naturally.

I totally understand why you feel panicked and why you're thinking you have to do a lot of stuff just to get pregnant. But I have had lots of people in this same position who went on to get pregnant with no problem at all. Not just a few, either. Many. Dozens, if not hundreds by now. I have had women leaving IVF doctors in tears after having been told they were borderline menopausal and had no chance of a baby without donor eggs getting BFP within 3-6 months or even THAT very same month!! And some of these ladies have gone on to have 2 pregnancies after having been told by the IVF doctors they were all but infertile!

The thing about IVF doctors is the old saying "To every little boy with a hammer, every problem they encounter looks like a nail that needs to be pounded on" and every woman that walks into a fertility clinic is going to be urged to use the most invasive, technologically advanced methods but that only very, very, very rarely means they have no chance with their own eggs naturally (particularly when they have proven fertility and are under 44)

All women, even older women with declining fertility, will still be making some good eggs. It may be every other month, or every 3 or 4, or 6, or even just one good egg a year. But you do still have SOME good eggs. It isn't enough to succeed with IVF (since you need many eggs for that) but the nice thing is, trying naturally, all you have to do is keep showing up month after month and being in a position to catch the egg, and eventually that magic egg we like to call "Goldie the Golden Egg" will arrive and if you've kept trying you will be in a position to conceive.

The odds of miscarriages do go up and I know the idea is terrifying. But most of us on here have had one or more and we lived through it. I am not saying this to be flip or minimize it, but simply to say that it is something that does happen, it is fine to have the concern in your mind but you can't be so terrified of the idea that you lose all good sense and start taking (as we already discussed) tons of herbs and supplements that do nothing to help prevent miscarriages (since the vast majority of them are simply just bad luck) and may even increase your risks of having a miscarriage or mess up your cycle so badly that you miss your chance at "Goldie the Golden Egg" and stop ovulating all together.
