    Advice on opks/Clomid

Hi girls, I have a dilemma this is my 3rd month of clomid, first was in July we got a bfp which turned into a cp. We had a couple of months off ttc then I started clomid again last month, we dtd e4d and got a bfn. Took clomid again this month and I've been doing opks, the pink clearblue ones that identify your 2 peak days. I've been stressing about missing the surge so have been doing 3 a day the last few days and I kind of expected a smiley face yesterday so when we didn't get one I panicked and we dtd anyway (obviously on clomid I'm worried about missing and wasting the month) so today I get a smiley face and I'm not sure what to do. Should we dtd again even though that's not as pink friendly? Should we wait till tomorrow? Take more opks to see if they go negative quickly?

I'm worried it'll take another 48 hours to ovulate and last night will be our only shot and it's quite far out. Last month I felt like we'd dtd the night i ovulated which meant that we had a -2 attempt and an o attempt but we didn't conceive, really worried that's going to happen again!

    Sorry for rambling

Also wondering what I should do if we get another bfn this month? Continue with another month of clomid (I got it from a kind lady on here so not prescribed) even though it'll be a 4th month or is it ok because the 3 attempts haven't been consecutive?

This happened to me. It sucks. Given that your attempt was ahead of when you got the smiley, here are your options: Option 1- have the next attempt tomorrow. That will essentially be every 3 days, which is still pink friendly. Option 2- the best for pink would be continue with every 4 days and have the next attempt 2 days from now. If you can’t decide what to do, then flip a coin and do what it says. FWIW, I wasn’t able to have my attempt, like option 1. I ended up getting pregnant anyway from the attempt 3 days ahead of ovulation with my DD. I just want you to know that it IS possible to get pregnant from an attempt before your positive opk.

You don’t need to worry about the Clomid cycle you took a while ago. You can only have 3 back to back Clomid attempts. Keep in mind that Clomid stays in your system for 1-2 months after stopping it.

🤞🏻and good luck with whatever you decide!

it's fine to keep taking the clomid since it hasn't been consecutive.

You've been at this so long, English, my inclination is for you to attempt again.

    Tonight

Thank you both so much for your replies. My original message should have said we took 2 months OFF ttc after the cp so this is only our 3rd month ttc and one of the months we got bfp the other one bfn. I really want to get pregnant this month though, I've been on and off the sway for so long I've forgotten what it's like to eat normally. I just don't want to inadvertently sway boy with another attempt!

I know but remember, you could go on for 100 months and get a boy anyway!!
