Has the diet/changes affected your cycle?

For the last 2 days I have spotted (bright red) right after a bowel movement. I wonder if I am starting my period? Bad timing because just ovulated a week ago and I am a full week early for my period. I am VERY regular and have been since my baby was 4 months old (despite breastfeeding). Has the diet provided the same result to anyone else?

Another note.....I always gain 1 lb right before and for the first 2 days of AF. Well, I lost a pound this morning (compared to yesterday) so I am stumped.

    Any ideas?

No, I had some very light spotting 3- 4 days after ovulation a couple of times while swaying girl, but not bright red.
Are you TTC? Could be implantation bleeding.
Are you sure itīs spotting and not haemorrhoids (sorry!)?

Not actively trying since we've only been on the diet for 4 weeks. It is definetly spotting and not hemhroids (or however you spell them LOL). I am only 11 DPO right now and spotted yesterday (same time) at 10 DPO.

For me spotting at 10 dpo is normal because I only have 11 days between ovulation and AF.
So you just may have a shorter cycle this month, maybe because of the diet or supps?

I think it has done something to me.... the supps and diet... I started the supps in Feb/Mar, diet changes since but stricked in May/June, and actively trying since the end of June.

My ph has dropped a lot, I did loose weight but then gained it back, and now I wonder what is up with my hormone levels. I am going to see my OB Dr soon to get some blood work.

Frustratingly, my pH has gone up! a little bit. My pH is always low - highest it gets is 4.7 or 4.8, usually closer to 4-4.5. Now it is around 5-5.2 and I am post-O. I am not eating any alkalinizing food. I think it might be from stopping my nightly vitamin c so I am going to restart that and see how it goes...

Must be a shorter cycle because now I am VERY lightly bleeding. I've never had this short of a cycle.

I just read the below article if anyone else is interested. I ate a LOT of red meat (maybe once a day) prior to this diet. So I guess my body is just adjusting. My goal to get pregnant is this summer so I am in no real hurry (except that I only have 7 lbs to lose before I fear I might get too thin).

But should I fear that the diet and changes are shortening my LP and causing low progesterone?

I would not worry over pH of 5-5.2 and I would for sure not restart the Vit. C. That's a step in the wrong direction...you're adding nutrients trying to "fix" something that isn't even broken to begin with.

There is very little appreciable difference in terms of chemistry, between pH of 4.8 and pH of 5.2 and this is why I hate digi pH testers, because you end up worrying over miniscule changes in pH that are totally irrelevant for swaying. No worries, you are still in a very good place for your sway.

Diet can def. alter your menstrual cycle. What diet are you following, how many calories are you getting a day?? You need 1500-1800. I agree with what you say, it does take a month or two before your body adjusts and it may be that a little patience is in order, things will prob. be back to normal next month (I know, easy for me to say, right!! ) I do not believe you need to be concerned about a short LP from dieting...people go onto diets all the time and yes, their cycle can get a little off for a month or two but then their body adjusts like nothing ever happened.

Also, aside from diet, are you taking baby aspirin and/or cranberry (please don't take them both, even though I know that the other site advises people to do that.) These are blood thinners and sometimes if you are getting too much, it can make you have extra long periods that start early and stay late. Are you having any other bruising or bleeding? I would try cutting the amount you're taking and take it every other day or even every two days, just to make sure that this is not becoming an issue for you. Bleeding can also happen in the stomach or brain and this can be life-threatening, so if you have even an outside concern that this is an issue, please don't worry, you won't ruin your sway by cutting back. Many have found that baby aspirin keeps pH nice and low even when taken as little as 1-2 times a week.
