    WWYD about these symptoms

I wonder if I have horrible low iron? Or something. I am not sure but AF is here and I am in misery. Horrible, HORRBLE cramps. Could not sleep last night and I never get cramps like this. I'm also very light headed right now. I took a pill of iron but maybe I should cave and eat some red meat? And I mentioned the spotting for 4 days prior to this period. Something isn't right.

besjoux, I'm SO SORRY that I didn't see this sooner. Any time there is ever an emergency, please feel free to PM me right away to get my attention because otherwise I just answer posts from oldest to newest.

Are you on vitex? That gives me terrible cramps.

I mentioned this in your other thread but if you are taking baby aspirin or cranberry, they can thin your blood and make your period heavier. Saw Palmetto may also be something of a blood thinner - it doesn't seem to affect people the way BA and Cran do though, but in combination, maybe.

Is there any way you could be pg? That would explain the early spotting and also the cramping. I had a chemical once and my AF was horribly painful that month.

If it isn't any better by tomorrow, you should call your doctor just to rule out an ectopic (esp. if you POAS and get a positive). You probably don't need to go rushing to the emergency room at this point but if the pain gets more severe, moves to your upper shoulders, or you develop a temperature, go.

Also, could toxic shock be a possibility?? You would have a sunburn-like rash. If you develop a temperature with this pain even without a rash, you need to be seen by a pro right away.

If you feel like red meat will make you feel better, PLEASE eat some. It will not ruin your sway to have a little red meat during AF.

I am not on vitex because I've always been really regular. This month I spotted for 4 days prior to my full period. I've never spotted that long prior. Could this be a sign of low progesterone?

I am nearly 100% certain that I am not pregnant. We didn't BD close to ovulation and when we did it was protected.

I don't have a rash either. I just hope this is a weird period. I've also followed this diet some but maybe I need SOME protein. Having a hard time figuring out what to eat now. Maybe my "low everything" was just too much of a shock to my system. I woke yesterday very dizzy too. I was dizzy all day with no appetite.

Hoping it was just a crazy cycle for you. Every now and then, I have a cycle where I have REAAAALLLLY bad cramps and then the next several cycles are just completely normal and sometimes no cramps at all. It may very well be the diet affecting you too, especially if you jumped right into it. As far as anemia goes, if you take iron sups, it takes about 2+ mos to have any affect on your levels I think. Eat what you think you need to right now and then just ease back into things. I hope this isn't serious and that things start to resolve swiftly... !!!

I was thinking back on my cycles and I agree, I"ve had some really weird ones too. Not often but maybe 8 times over my repro life. For seemingly no reason.

OOtB is right, it takes awhile for anemia to develop. I hope you're feeling better soon.
