Hi
Can anyone give me an abbreviated version of the LE PCOS coming back from failed gender sway? I do not have PCOS but Atomic said the LE PCOS diet is good if failed sway from LE diet. Can you eat white rice or carbs with this diet? What is the preferred ... brown rice, quinoa, white rice, farro? Can you eat meat or is this more of a vegetarian/ fruit diet? Thanks

It's 1500-1800 calories, 60g fat, 50-60g protein so very similar to LE just higher limits and the focus is more on whole grains, veggies/fruits. You can eat white carbs although whole grains are better for PCOS diet. If you don't have PCOS though and are just doing it for sway purposes, then you can probably bend the rules a little more. You can eat meat on either LE or PCOS diet, it's just most ladies go veggie for the LE version because it's easier to stay in protein limits. On PCOS diet, you have a little more wiggle room for protein. Low carb veggies are free so eat however much you want but fruit and high carb veggies you'd count calories, but not fat or protein. On this diet, you'd have one serving of full fat dairy a day (cheese, milk, yogurt, etc). Skip the skim dairy.

thanks! hmm ok. I never had skim milk before and wasn't a big dairy person in the LE diet. How is this really different from the LE diet? Just wondering since the LE diet was an opposite. I was mainly vegetarian, exercised 60min, 4x a week... just wondering what kind of changes to make. Anyone have a sway opposite and then a success? Thanks ladies!

Well for starters the PCOS version is better for blood sugar. I personally think some LE sway opposites are a result of that person having PCOS tendencies (even if they don't have full blown PCOS). For some people the LE diet may wreak too much havoc on their blood sugar levels and inadvertently sway blue. I'm not saying that's what happened to you though because even if a person is 70% set for pink on standard LE, they still have a 30% chance of having a boy. So the difference is with PCOS LE, you'd actually be having fewer carbs because by upping fat and protein, you're automatically cutting down on carb intake. You'd also be having one serving of full fat dairy a day and focusing more on veggies/fruits/whole grains. Atomic thinks this diet is BETTER than standard LE. Results are really great for the PCOS version and honestly I'm excited to see how the stats are in a year or two as more and more people do that diet. Personally if I were to sway again, I'd do the PCOS diet.
I think you should exercise again this time around if you can. It's still getting great results! So that plus the diet, fiber, alcohol, one attempt, and clomid/femara are all good tactics to use.'12

Thanks ksmom. So in the LE PCOS diet - there are less carbs (breads, white rice) and more veggie/fruit and grains (brown rice, quinoa, whole wheat bread etc)? And in this diet you are taking more full fat/protein in your diet. Where should we be getting the protein from? Chicken? Or should we do more vegetarian diet? Atomic - what have you seen that works (failed LE diet and success on PCOS) and of course some of it comes to chance! thanks.
ksmom - separately - are you going HT? I sway back and forth from HT and swaying again. I feel like sometimes we are just more set in having one gender... What are your thoughts on HT? thanks!

Yes. There are both fewer carbs (since you get a higher % of your cals from protein and fat) and also BETTER carbs (whole grains, fruit, veg)
You can get protein whereever you want to get it from. Small amounts of chicken, dairy, eggs, fish, even red meat now and then. Nuts, legumes, soy are ok, they are carbier though so someone on the diet for severe PCOS or egg quality may need to keep them to a dull roar.
I have seen many people have opposites with standard LE Diet and then successes with the alternate diet so please don't feel you're selling your sway short switching over to that, I have come to believe the alternate diet is possibly even better than standard for swaying and am using it for more and more people now (and our results have stayed high or are even improving - I need to see this improvement continue more than a year though before I'm totally sold). I'd use it for everyone but many people will lose too much weight on the alternate LE and it's much harder to stick to, so we are still doing standard for those who need it.!!! Thanks Atomic. So less carbs, more fruit and veg, some full fat from say yogurt and sprinkle in some small amounts of chicken, diary, eggs and fish. Brown rice instead of white rice. How much brown rice and carbs like whole wheat bread can we eat? Also do you have any successful PCOS diet gender sway that previous with LE diet was opposite? Just want to read up on some examples. Thanks!!

White rice is actually a bit of a gray area as a lot of people tolerate white rice really well even with blood sugar issues. Use your judgment on that.
The amount you can eat depends on how much you're eating of other things. I can't give you a quantity on that, you need to take into consideration your overall dietary intake.
Yes several people have. Carmella_Marie is the first person who pops into my head. I have everyone who got an opposite on standard LE Diet, switch to the PCO version.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Yes I hope to do HT in the next couple of years. I waffled back and forth between swaying and doing HT when we considered having baby #3. DH was actually the one that pushed for HT but I wasn't completely on board with it. Now of course I wish I'd done it but oh well. After finding out we were having our third son I decided I couldn't risk swaying again. I don't just want another baby, I want a daughter. I think anyone who feels this way should strongly consider HT if at all possible. It's a hard decision to make but you've just gotta be honest with yourself. Maybe my opinion will change in time but for now and for the past couple of years, this is how I've felt.
