Ok, so I wasn't going to post this but on babycenter there is a post about women getting their girls when they used LR, it is 14/14 now. It does sound convincing. I researched on LR and only thing that I have found is that is it unsafe during pregnancy, so it would be safe to take from AF-O?, or some women took it the way Clomid is taken CD3-7 or CD5-9. I wanted to get input on what atomic or any other ladies think about this, is it coincidental that all LR moms are getting girls? I'm thinking of adding it my next cycle since my cycles have been wacky so hoping it fixes that and sway pink as well. But if there have been proven birth defects or problems with moms using LR then I will definitely stay away from it!

DO NOT USE LICORICE ROOT FOR WOMEN.
Unlike most things in science, it's been definitively shown to cause pretty serious issues with unborn babies when eaten in pretty reasonable amounts during pregnancies - developmental delays, lower IQ, early puberty, etc. This is the CANDY itself, not supplements, which are much more concentrated. We do not know the mechanism by which this occurs, and thus can't know how long the effects of the LR last in the body. We know that the chemicals in the licorice affect cortisol levels that the baby is exposed to, and the development of the placenta itself and it is very likely harmful in other ways that scientists haven't figured out yet.
I think it is really, really risky and unacceptably dangerous to use LR when TTC and I cannot ever sign off on it even if it was proven to be the magic pink bullet because it is not worth the risk.Last edited by atomic sagebrush; April 2nd, 2018 at 12:33 PM.

Glad I read this. I sometimes eat licorice all sorts that I buy at candy shops at the mall. I'm not sure whether they contain real licorice, but I'll cut them out of my diet anyway.
