I would consult with his doctor but as someone that has had a double hernia repair, that should NOT be the case. Opioids are very addictive. I would seek help. No doctor should still be prescribing opioids 6 months after surgery. This is exactly why there is a huge issue with addition to these things!!. If he is still in pain, you guys should find out what the medical reason is. A hernia repair should be ok in about two weeks post surgery!

Yeah, absolutely echoing nuthinbutpink. Has he been on the painkillers for 6 months straight? That's a huge problem -- even beyond infertility, he could be seriously affecting a lot of other things in his body. He needs to see a doctor ASAP. And I can certainly guess it's affecting his sperm negatively, as well.

Well, I'd probably not worry about it for now since he's not taking anything else that may be impacting his sperm health negatively, however I think the others have raised some valid concerns!

That is still a huge issue with the pain killers. MAYBE, MAYBE two weeks for a hernia. No doctor should still be prescribing something as addicting as that! He needs to figure out if he still has a medical issue that is causing pain OR if he is simply addicted to pain killers at this point. You think it can't happen to you but THIS is how it happens. Good luck hun.

Thanks you. I don’t think he’s addicted but he is in so much pain he sais he must take them. But we’re looking for other options now.
