    Losing weight advise needed

So hubby and I will be trying to sway for a girl next year early sometime .But last 3 months I have done low calorie diet and I lost quite a lot of weight already and incidentally hubby also started dieting to lose weight nd he is also in weight loss mode. Is this ok for girl sway? Also when we sway next year is it necessary that I should still be losing weight or is it ok if we just maintain the weight we will be at in a couple of months. Will losing weight this early before sway help us ? Also for hubby what would you advise for weight loss? Heard that for girl sway he should not lose weight so I’m worried that because he has lost a lot of weight now it will not help in our girl sway next year...I feel like I’m quite girl friendly at the moment but we r not ready for a baby until next year....very confused here...kindly pour in your suggestions.TIA.

We once theorized that timing weight loss to coincide with conception might be a good idea, but as it turned out it a) caused TONS of trouble for people and I believe contributed to several opposites including my own (and I can go into why this is if you are interested) and b) didn't work anyway.

It is fine to lose weight in advance of a sway and then hold steady. In fact this is my preference; once you drop below BMI 21, please stop losing and try to hold steady. and under no circumstances should you drop below BMI 18.5 as it will very likely stop ovulation to do that.

The "husbands should not lose/gain weight" is for men with small weight losses/gains. Annoyingly, men have a tendency of losing small amounts or gaining small amounts (they tend to lose fat before muscle and gain muscle before fat, which is the exact opposit of how we ladies do it) and having this affect their testosterone. BUT remember, we don't even know that testosterone levels sway anyway! And furthermore, any man losing/gaining more than 10-15 lbs will be swaying pink anyway since at that point their T levels will be negatively affected. So if he's lost a lot of weight then it would only sway pink for him.

Hi atomic....thanks for the prompt response as usual [emoji7]one thing I wanted to check regarding weight loss for myself was do u think losing weight while TTC might cause delayed ovulation? Or is it only if I drop below BMI 21? I will be tracking my cycles in the few months before trying nd was wondering if losing weight in the 3 months might change my cycle length ?

Yes, losing weight can cause delayed ovulation even when you don't drop below BMI 21 (like if you lose weight super rapidly or if you are also exercising tons while losing weight). I have to pick a cutoff and BMI 21 is going to prevent the majority of delayed O but not all of them.

Hmmm thnks for letting me know that....I will lose weight till my cycles r steady then perhaps I will hold on to that weight for swaying...I’m currently counting only on weight loss and 1 attempt for girl swaying atomic....I feel like there is not much time for anything else...if you would suggest one more thing in addition to the above two which I could add to my pink sway what wud that be?

12 weeks or longer on diet plus fiber, coffee, alcohol, cardio exercise 4-6 days per week, 60 min a day, one attempt, Clomid or Femara if you can get them. That's it! Those are the only things that really seem to work (and theyve been more effective than weight loss anyway! Weight loss alone has not been predictive of whose sways work and whose do not)

For DH, jogging/biking, and smoking are proven in studies as well. Having him go on a vegetarian/vegan diet, drinking coffee/alcohol/soy milk, taking olive leaf extract may also help.

Thanks atomic...i walk 60 minutes every day ...is that considered as cardio too? We drink alcohol only on social occasions and we are already vegetarians ....so I think that shud help....will start taking fiber too...

Yes it is and in fact is my preferred form of cardio since few people get injured doing that!
