Ways to increase female sperm in pgd

    Hi
I have three amazing boys and we have been trying desperately to conceive a daughter unsuccessfully. We tried shuttles, tried swaying naturally twice only to conceive two mores boys and miscarry another. We even tried sperm sorting and did not get pregnant via iui. We recently tried pgd. Myhusband and i are extremely fertile. I had 31 eggs retrieved and my husbands sperm fertilized almost all of them and without iCsi. Of the 9 that went to pgd onday 5, 7 were male. I only had one female to transfer that was healthy. I transferred her via fet and i didn't get pregnant and I am devastated. What can by husband do or take I n our next round to get more female sperm. He released the day of the trigger. Should he abstain for a few days,a take a hot shower, or take any supplements that can help?
Thank you so much for your thoughts and help!!!

There is no way to increase the number of X sperm your husband makes. Men's bodies are made up of XY cells that divide to make half X and half Y sperm. There is no way to alter this. Whatever sways, does it after the sperm leaves the body.

Your best option is sorting sperm via Microsort before you use them to fertilize the eggs.

I'd actually been told the opposite. Can't remember who told me though. I'm sure it was one of the doctors I've consulted with. They said that because the sperm are hand picked by eye, they tend to choose the most motile ones and because Y sperm are slightly lighter they tend to move quicker.
Who knows though. I've spoken to that many different fertility specialists now and I've heard conflicting info on a number of things, it's anyone's guess.

Could be true WAD I had natural fertilization and it resulted in more girls. But who knows though right??? Think it may differ from person to person. Like IUI, supposed to favour girls and I had two boys!

I had also heard that ICSI results in more boys...Google to the rescue...

Ok I'm back and it looks like ICSI does seem to yield more girls both as embryos and at birth BUT I feel that I need to toss out a caveat here. We don't know WHY that might be. Did more boys arrest in development - boys are more fragile, of course? Is there something in the ICSI process more girl friendly (like the glucose content of the fluids they use) Or is some quality of X sperm making them more likely to be selected by the tech to use for fertilization to begin with??

I know a woman who had 7 of 9 ICSI babies turn out to be males!

WAD - that's what I heard too and it was from an RE. That the Y sperm were easier to "catch" or something like that. But I think that studies are more reliable and the studies thus far seem to show more girls from ICSI.

Same doctor also said more boys from IUI which makes a lot of sense to me but now I feel like I better research that too!!

Ok back again. Apparently Dr. Shettles claimed more boys from IUI because it was timed right at ovulation. Others have speculated (and this seems far more reasonable and supported by facts) that something in the preparation of sperm helped the Y sperm somehow. Some of the solutions that sperm are washed in have been proven to be more boy-friendly.

I still believe IUI would sway blue by bypassing the entire repro tract and also by precapacitating large numbers of sperm and inserting them near the egg. EVerything that would sway pink, is removed from the equation, and gives Y sperm the advantage in that scenario.

The same lady I mentioned with the 7 of 9 boy embies from ICSI also got a boy from IUI.

You CAN conceive girls with IUI, don't get me wrong, it's just that I believe it would yield more boys.

    Very interesting.
I was told by my clinic when I did IUI that due to the sperm preparation it sways more boys. Something about the washing and spinning and the Ys being lighter so floating to the top of the preparation and the sample being sucked up from the top therefore containing more Ys.
