Hello Babydoctor!! I'm sure you've heard about the E News co-host Giuliana Rancic who found out she has breast cancer after her RE forced her to get a mammo before undergoing more IVF. My RE says that without real reason to get a mammo, there is no reason to do so unless the patient really wants to. I'm 36 (almost 37) and have no family history of breast cancer, however, it scares me to move forward with IVF without having a mammogram. I have 2 beautiful little boys I want to be around for!!

My question though, is that I just stopped BF my 15 month old at the beginning of this month. I was hoping to move forward with IVF/PGD as soon as my cycle resumes (took 2 months to get my cycle back after weaning DS1). However, I heard a mammogram is not very accurate on someone who has newly weaned (most say you should be completely dried up for 6 mos). Is this true? If so, would an u/s be beneficial or just skip it all together??

Thanks so much!!
