Hello!
I am new here - well, I've been "lurking" for a few months now, figuring out how I want to plan my swayAnyways, after months of thinking and deciding what to do, and trying things out, and changing my mind, I finally decided what type of sway I am going to do. I decided to cut out meat completely. I've reduced my salt intake as much as possible (easier when I'm at home, but we've been at my parents house for the past 4 weeks for Christmas vacation!!). I have cut out potatoes, and added in cranberry and calcium supplements.
Anyways, back to my question!! I have changed my diet over the past 5 months to significantly reduce salt intake (I was a serious salt-aholic!!), and stopped eating red meat a few months ago. The other things, like the supplements, and cutting out the rest of the meats (chicken & fish) just started a couple weeks ago. I also JUST stopped breastfeeding our 11 month old 2 weeks ago exactly. With our toddler (he's 26 months), I stopped breastfeeding him at 7 months, and was pregnant with this baby 2 weeks later (no period, no warning....I knew it was possible, and we were ready to TTC - I just thought it would take much longer!! Apparently we're just really good at catching that egg!). Anyways, we are now right on the button at 2 weeks post-weaning, and I've been doing OPK's to see if I'm ovulating, because DH and I haven't been actively preventing pregnancy since we want a 3rd.
Here is my dilemma: I got a faint positive today. I would bet any money that tomorrow it will be a positive OPK, so I should ovulate by Monday roughly. DH also leaves tomorrow morning to go out of town on a conference for over a week, so I'm sure he has it in his mind that we are going to DTD tonight, because it will be a while until we're back together. I was ok with "taking a chance" and not preventing before, because I knew I wouldn't ovulate until I weaned, and I was doing the OPK's just in case. BUT....now that I know I'm close, I'm not sure what to do! Condom's are out (we HATE them). So, it's choose to take a risk or not. I'm just scared that if I DO end up getting pregnant, I will regret not taking more time to have the diet and supplements in place (can't do that until the kids and I return from our Christmas vacation at the end of the week), and that we will end up with Boy #3 and I'll blame myself. I also wanted DH to take licorice root, but we didn't have it here with us, nor could we find it anywhere in town. What would you do??? I thought about going to get Replens and using that too if we do choose to do that....but I just don't know! ACK!!! help![]()

I'd help Dh release and not DTD if you know what I mean. You may also want to consider baby aspirin instead of cranberry. Cranberry adds too many nutrients. You get the benfit of lowered PH with the baby aspirin without the added nutrients from the cranberry.. Check out the calcium thread too. I'm dropping it as of today!

Thank you! As I was typing, I think I was seeing my answer a bit more clearly
You're right. Much better to wait!! No regrets. It has just been SO long since I've ovulated, or had AF (still no AF since our little guy's delivery last February!), I think I just panicked with the OPK
I want to do this MY way this time, and get AF back and deal with diet before we really TTC. Heck, I haven't had AF in 3 years now! I guess this means "practice" is over, and it's time to get strict on my diet! I am going to look into the baby aspirin too, thank you!

I agree, I think if you're worried that you'd have regrets it would be more sensible to wait for a cycle at least so you can have a bit more time on the diet and get in the supps that you've chosen
