This is quite long so will just try and only outline the key points but don't want to miss anything incase it may help shed light on why i'm bleeding.
Last month I couldn't pin point ovulation although I was using OPKs day and night and got through 14 digitals and god knows how many cheapies.
We had two attempts one on CD 17 amd 22 if I rember correctly. I usually have 27-29 day cycles and usually Ovulate on CD 15 bar the previous month where I had a 34 day cycle.
In the 2ww I felt really sick (like motion sickness) had sore breasts and lots of other symptoms so much so I convinced my self I must be pregnant. I was also having short sharp pains in my left side which over the days turned into a dull ache. On CD 27 I had some pink mucus like discharge. I then because really hopeful that this was inplantation spotting as have never had this at the start of AF before. This then turned into red spotting. I had a two day light period followed by a few more days of light spotting. I usually have a heavy period and it usualy last 6-7 days.
So I have still had a few days where I get the motion sickness feeling. And tingling in my boobs. But definate BFN.
I went to the Dr.s on CD4 of this cycle to explain my symptoms and how I was worring about pain in my left side and lighter AF. She didn't have much advice to give just that if I had got a BFP she would have thought I was describing the symptoms of an eptopic pregnancy but as the test was negative not to worry. The way I was feeling could of been down to a poss chemical pregnancy. But to come back if I was still worried. So few days after AF spotting had cleared up I was still getting the dull ache in my left side but much less noticeable. This was odd as I don't usually get cramps with AF let alone after AF has gone.
I decided not to attempt this month for other reasons so haven't been taking OPKs but yesterday on CD 16 I wiped and saw blood and it was still there this am in my knickers and have put in a liner today and it lightly filled the liner but the blood is much darker today.
So basically I'm freaking out a little as this has never happened before.
I am taking
Cranberry sups (only been taking them for a week this month stopped taking them in 2ww and a bit into this cycle because of possibility AF was actualy heay implantation bleeding)
Mgnesium changed from 3x100mg tabs to onex250mg a few days ago
Calcium
vit c
That's all on a pretty strict IG diet lots of milk cranberry juice, pasta, rice and rice crispies is my main diet pretty much every day. Do eat a few other bit from the diet every now and then and ate chocolate over xmas and new years. I have been on the diet since mid Oct and have lost about 17lb.
Think that's all the information I can give you thank you for reading.
Any advice would be great. I'm going to see the Dr. again tomorrow and ask for a blood test.

It's the cran. Some of us (me too) are super duper sensi to blood thinners and it can really mess us up. Your pain on the left side was extra blood/fluid released when the egg emerged from the ovary, this can go on for some time after ovulation and can be pretty painful.
The reason why your period was short was probably because your body really clamped down on the clotting factors because it "felt" like you were bleeding too much (your body makes extra clotting factors when you ahve your period that can counteract the cran, plus by the time you get AF you have usu. been off the cran for 2 weeks). I think the blood now is from ovulation spotting.
Do the blood test just to be sure but I think you need to taper off the cran and either not take it any more or take way, way less.
PS - I am highly concerned about the utter lack of potassium in your diet. you need to be getting 2500-3500 mg of potassium per day and this is true on the IGD and FGD as well. You can die if you do not get enough. Please take a minute and add up the amount that is in the milk you are eating to see how much you're getting. Eat a banana if that's what it takes, it will not ruin your sway.Last edited by atomic sagebrush; January 15th, 2012 at 02:51 PM.

Zancal I've taken several ebay cheapies over the past couple of weeks all BFN so guess the chances of being pregnant are super slim.
Thank you atomic, I understand cranberry is a blood thinner but i'm still confused as to why my body would bleed less when I haven't been taking them for 2 weeks? Is the cranberry responsible for ovulation bleeding aswell as have never bled mid cycle before and only taken them for a week this cycle. And why would a blood thinner make my body more prone to bleeding when ovulating?
Doesn't milk contain potassium? I thought I would have got some from that also chocolate has potassium in it. Couldn't eat a banana or a potato if I wanted to now to me it would be like someone asking me to drink arsnic lol. I'm very good at conditioning myself into not eating certain foods.2 yrs old ~

Just had a look and 1 cup of 2% fat milk has 10% of RDA of potassium a day I drink at least 3 large glasses and some in cereal most days so think i'm probably getting about 50% of my RDA of potassium a day from milk at the moment.
Will try and up it a bit though.2 yrs old ~

It'll def start eating low fat natural yoghurt each day again too and hopefully that will help towards my potassium levels.
Is there anything else that you could suggest that I eat that isn't a banana, potato or tomato that would also help?
I don't want to make myself ill before I get a BFP.2 yrs old ~

your body would bleed less when you haven't been taking them for 2 weeks because first of all, you ahven't been taking them for two weeks. Secondly, your body takes note of how your blood is clotting and if it "thinks" you need more clotting factors, it will begin to make more (women make more clotting factors during AF anyway otherwise we woudl all bleed to death.) So by taking the blood thinners and then stopping them cold turkey, you prettymuch told your body, "I need lots of clotting factors" and then removed the reason for the clotting factors to be needed, and then in addition your body made more because you were on AF anyway. net result, less bleeding during AF.
(other people find that cran makes them bleed MORE on AF, it's all about your own body, everyone works just a bit differently)
Cran can TOTALLY cause spotting at ovulation because when the egg is released from the ovary, a little blood/fluid comes with it and if this is enough in amount, it can make you spot/bleed. Many women have this every month just as a matter of course. When you're taking blood thinners, your body takes longer to clot and so you release more blood whenever you bleed, so you bruise, bleed longer after cuts, and also may experience bleeding at O when you don't normally. This blood is the source of some O pain that women experience, it causes discomfort when it contacts the organs and tissues inside your abdomen (if you are aware of endometriosis, blood irritating abdominal tissues is why it is so painful)
One of the biggest prob. I have with cran is the on again, off again nature of how it is taken because you create this situation where your body never gets used to it, it's constantly trying to make the right amoutn of clotting factors and it's swinging wildly back and forth from having too little to having too much and right when your body adjusts, you start up the entire process. of course you cannot take cran during the 2WW because it can cause miscarriage so that is why I prefer baby aspirin + aspartame for acidity rather than cran.
Please take the time to add up exactly how much potassium you are getting each day and don't just rely on "10%" and "3 large glasses". There are no magic foods, people conceive 50-50 boys and girls even in Ireland where they eat tons of potatoes, and if you do not get 2500-3500 mg a day, it is not good for your health. IGD and FGD both call for 2500-3500 mg a day.
All fruits and vegetables have some potassium. Coconut water is anotehr possibility, it has 600 mg of potassium for very little protein, fat, and calories.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Thanks atomic,
I sort of get it just stranges as the two months I was taking it straight through before TTC my AF was ''normal''.
The other thing about it other than being light this month was that I had no clots at all where as I usually get a heavy flow and lots of clots even when I was taking cranberry straight through. But like you said it reacts in different ways to each individual so won't dwell on it.
On day 3 of the ovulation bleeding now read it can last up to 5 days it's so annoying. Can't wait to get a BFP and no AF for two years whoop!
I'm a bit confused between the connection between cranberry and ovulation bleeding as what i've read it's caused by the sudden drop of estrogen so a hormonal thing. So could it be a hormonal thing from swaying and then the fact that cranberry is a blood thinner i'm bleeding more than I usually would so withot the cranaberry I could have still had ovulation spotting but it wouldn't have lasted as long?
I will drop it and go for baby asprin aspartame and acidiphilus.
So baby asprins job is basicaly just used as a blood thinner when swaying? Do I take it every 3 days (think I read that somewhere) and do you keep taking it through the 2ww to avoid the sudden drop off of a supliment?2 yrs old ~
