2/19 - After giving the puppy a bath I saw something in her ear I hadn't noticed before. DH looked and pulled out a tick. We got a flash light and looked in her ears again and found 5 more ticks really deep. Took her straight to the vet and they did an ear flush (12 ticks came out) and gave her medication. Vet bill was a wonderful $180. Found out she was an Indian Reservation dog and we were not told this when we got her.
2/20 - DS2 thought it would be fun to change his own diaper. At least he took it off in the kitchen so the poop was easier to clean up.
2/22 - DH gets sick with a really bad sinus cold. Seven days later and he is still sick.
2/24 - I get sick. But with morning sickness and toliet issues it is worse.
2/27 - Over night we got a ton of snow. 6 inches in the front yard but the way the wind blows we had 18 inches in the back yard. Good thing the boys find it fun to shovel snow off the 8x20 patio. The hot shower, hot coco, and nap was the best part.
2/27 - My favorite Aunt passed away at 70 after having a stroke a few weeks ago. She was the only aunt I knew growing up and she was the best. My other aunts on my moms side live far away but I want no part of their lives.
2/28 - DS1 gets sick but it was nice to see him take 4 naps in one day since he never takes naps. DS2 was nice enough to yell in his ear every few minutes for him to wake up while he massaged his back and gave him a kiss.
2/28 - The puppy is very sick. Threw up her food, can't walk, can't move, and a lot more. Took her to the vet and found she had the advanced stages of distemper. Only 10wks old and thought she was a normal healthy puppy. She was perfectly healthy even the vet said she was healthy. Turns out nearly all the RES puppies end up this way because the owners do nothing for the puppies.
2/29 - So far DS1 has only asked once about the puppy. We are not to emotional about it because we didn't have her as long as we had Willow but it is still sad because so was a good puppy.
.....Hoping 3/2 is a very good day and the u/s shows everything I hope to see.
And no more dogs for the next 5 years!

As far as I'm concerned, a new puppy can be as much work as another child in the house. So although it was a horrible thing to have happened to your puppy and family, it may end up being a blessing in disguise and help relieve a little of the pressure. Things do always seem to happen at once, and more so when you are pg for some reason. Maybe the hormones mean that everything is magnified as well.
I had to laugh when you said DS1 got sick but at least was having heaps of naps. We always joke how it is nice when DS2 gets sick as we get lots of cuddles (he is normally much too busy!)
