New to Gender Dreaming! Question about VERY shallow penetration for ttc pink !

    Hello ladies
I'm new to this website and have been reading up on ttc a girl, and my husband and i are in the process of ttc a pink bundle! I am 37 and my DH is 42, so this will hopefully be our 3rd and last baby as i am beginning to feel the clock ticking.
We had an attempt last night, but i am certain that penetration was way way too shallow, and most of the 'swimmers' fell out as soon as i stood up (sorry for tmi!!) i am attempting to do a cut off of hopefully 2-3 days so don't really want to try again today and I am worried i may be out again this month
Can anyone tell me if they have achieved pregnancy with such VERY shallow penetration and whether i may still be in with a chance? or maybe i should try again (and could end up with a 1 day cut off?)
Thanks for any advice anyone may be able to share with me

    Hi and welcome!

First of all, (altho I take your word for it if you're telling me it was REALLY shallow) just because you lost some semen on standing up, doesn't necessarily mean that penetration was too shallow. There are millions of sperm in a batch of semen and you can really leap up immediately, do 50 jumping jacks, shower and run the Boston Marathon and still get pg. If it was super shallow and then you did a jump and dump, then you bet your odds are lower than what they'd be if penetration was deeper - my point is, that just because some semen came out when you stood up, that doesn't mean you can't get pg from that. Semen ALWAYS seems to find it's way out LOL.

That having been said, I strongly urge anyone who is in their late 30's to have more than one attempt, esp. under these sort of circumstances when you didn't even have a good attempt for getting pg. Timing does NOT sway gender http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...le-timing.html and at 37, you really never know when you're going to reach the last fresh egg in the carton (I'm 41 and right there with ya). You just cannot waste months chasing sway tactics that don't even work because if you don't get pg, you have no chance at your DG. When I started getting interested in gender swaying 4 years ago, I was with a group of women on one of the other sway sites and many of them did very strict sways with O+12 or long cutoffs and NONE of them got pg until they dropped timing all together. Some of them are STILL trying and now are infertile due to age and have to go HT. I don't mean to scare you but I just want you to be very aware that it has happened to people - they wasted years on swaying that they could have gotten pg and at least SOME would have their DG. Heck, some of them could have fit in 2 more attempts if they hadn't wasted time swaying.

I have a friend who got his wife pregnant without ANY penetration at all--they were fooling around and he left a "deposit" at the entrance. So you never know. Like Atomic said, there are millions of sperm in there and some hopefully made it to the promised land!

Thanks so much Atomic for your reply - so appreciate you taking the time to give me your much needed advice! Decided to give it another shot, and not worry so much with the timing - as you say, i will be lucky to even get pregnant again at my age. Will update of course to see if we had any luck!

Hobbermittens - thanks you give me some hope !!
