Sad Face I think i screwed it all up....

Ok, so we ttc girl. I've been on a diet for seven weeks (first 3 weeks in-gender and then switched to LE). I've been taking supplements, cranberry, drinking Sprite Zero etc. I haven't been eating meat and finally started losing weight too. Hubby abstained 9 days before O. So swaying was going allright.

3 days ago we DTD. We wanted to do 0+12 and I was so sure I pinpointed O right and since EWCM seemed to disappear we DTD. But about seven hours after I had very clear ovulation pains so we ended up Having sex just on ovulation. Also EWCM came back and ph went up.

Also I hadn't tested dh's ph ever. I guess I just thought it would be fine he drinking aspartame drinks every day more than I care to count and also he's not into this swaying stuff anyway so I just let it be. So after the intercourse I test his ph for the first time and it's ashtonishing 9+ at least. and my ph was also probably higher since EWCM came back.

Now I have a strange feeling in my stomach that i'm pregnant. Feels like with my DS (early symptoms) and I'm just so angry to myself. :/ Why do I go and have a extremely hard diet for weeks etc and then just screw it all up.. Just needed to vent.

    Allegra,
Don't be so hard on yourself! Most people here on Genderdreaming will agree that timing doesn't matter. Boys and girls are conceived in equal numbers on all the days surrounding ovulation. The diet is MOST important. Having hubby abstain also is GREAT, really you did SO well on this attempt! Also, many of us here have stopped worrying about ph. The diet and the supps are going to keep your ph low anyway. Stressing about ph is not good because it may raise your testosterone which sways boy.

Wishing you happy thoughts and no stress!

Allegra, it sounds like you did a great job! Don't worry about it! I'm not worrying about timing AT ALL and not going to bother with testing DH's or my pH AT ALL, and I am totally comfortable with that. Relax and I really hope you see your BFP because that would be wonderful news!

I wouldn't worry either. If it helps, we conceived a girl on O day (also possibly right around the time I O'd!) and my DH's pH was always sky high also.

    Love

I wouldn't worry much either as I have 2 DD's and BOTH were concieved on O day & with loads of EWCM. I know it's so hard, and if you are pg, then the wait to see if it is a girl will be torture! I am going through that now, waiting to see if we will finally get our boy! Just try to remind yourself what is meant to be will be and you cannot change that, and boy or girl this baby will so loved & special in their own way! You did a great job with your sway, and although, believe me, it seems impossible to do, try not to stress too much as it isn't good for you and the potential growing new life inside you!

Thanks ladies!! You really made me feel so much better! I'm quite new here on this forum - I used to be on IG, but I really feel like this site has a lot nicer atmosphere and the swaying principles just seem to make sense to me.

So I've also read about timing's lack of importance. I guess I just thought that timing in itself doesn't sway (I don't believe in Shettles etc.), but rather lack of EWCM and low ph that can be affected by timing. I'm not sure I put it right. And during ovulation I have tons of EWCM.

Also I just can't seem to understand how DH's ph can be that high with his diet and drinking coke zero all day long. He has ulcerative colitis and is taking some mild chemotherapy-drug as a treatment (doctors all say the dosage is 100% safe for pregnancy and he can't really quiot the med. It can lower sperm count a little though). I'm not sure if this can cause high ph?!

Anyway, I know it's too early to go crazy - I don't even have BFP yet. It's just that skipping breakfast, eating low cal etc has been a hard job for me, I got so angry that I left our sway just half way, KWIM?

as atomic always says, (not in her exact words) it's better to not sweat the small stuff! I think you did great. it's so much better to not be stressed. even though, I know I was stressed on our first month TTC. here's to hoping though.. and praying that we all get our DG!

You can have O pains before, during, and after O. There is NO way to tell on the basis of O pains when you ovulated.

Many of us have CM after ovulation. I had CM for days and days after I ovulated and also O pains after O, when I conceived this last baby.

you can't test pH after intercourse, the longer it sits around the pH changes.

If you were doing the diet, the diet is getting 80% effectiveness alone. timing on the other hand, has been studied for 40 years and has been disproved again and again. I think if you did a good diet, you should feel GREAT about your sway.

Well, you need SOME EWCM in order to fertilize the egg so it's not a bad thing that you had some. If you had already ovulated, then you don't need to worry about that EWCM anyway because the egg was either fertilized or dead by that point.

I don't know if the meds can cause high pH but whether it does or not, it's the sperm count that matters anyway, not the pH. If his sperm count is low regardless of his pH, that's still pink friendly.
