Quick: Need to lower DH ph level !! (ttc girl)

Hi there,

I am new to this site, so far I have been having a good read through the forums and gathered so much useful information.
I am 36 and a mum of 2 lovely boys, but would love to ttc a little girl next time.
I have been taking all my supplements which has brought my ph down to 4-4.5. Thought I would check dh this morning and his was was ph9!! oh dear, not good.
Any suggestions how I can qucikly reduce this down enough to try and stand a chance to sway a girl?
He is taking x1 cranberry tablet a day (252mg) with Calcium and magnesium, how much cranberry should he be taking? Any other thoughts of how I can reduce this by next month? I wanted to try this month (tonight) but not sure I can bring it down in time!!

I hardly ever catch q's in this forum but just happened to spot this.

Cal and mag can cause his pH to rise but you can't have him just quit taking them, he needs to taper off slowly over time (that is, if you were to want him to do that.)

Since it's a hurry up situation here, I'd give him a Sudafed, it can lower semen pH very quickly. I would go ahead and TTC tonight, if this is the only thing stopping you. We've seen so many pH opposites, we're not even sure it sways much, esp. on DH's side of the equation.

That's great advice, thank you so much for replying so quickly. I was going to try O+12, I'm pretty sure I ovulated early this morning as my temp was so unusual high when I woke up (it has been much lower for the rest of today so far), so I was hoping to try 1st attempt tonight. When would you advice DH to take the Sudafed? Also I was going to try Benadryl, would I take this at the same time? (I have taken x1 Benadryl for the last couple of days). Thank you again for your help.

Sudafed is 1-2 hours before attempt. Yes, you would take Benadryl at the same time if you wanted to.

I did think it was a bit odd that my temp was high this morning, but since I have been monitoring my cycles I quite often get 2 higher morning temps... so I am not sure now?! (I will know for sure tomorrow morning). I got my first + opk at 1pm on day 13, today is day 15 and I got my high temp at 7am this morning, followed by some tummy pains. So I thought this must have been me ovulating (this would be roughly 42 hours after my + opk). I hope I have not got this muddled up, but I thought for an O+12 attempt I needed to count 8-20 hours after my first high temp which would be tonight?
Really appreciate anymore time and advice you could give me, this is so important and I don't want to get it wrong.
