Found out today we are having a little boy and we are absolutely over the moon...but I can't keep worrying they might of got it wrong? It was a trainee sonographer with an experienced sonographer her behind her but she wasn't helping as the Trainee was doing well and looked like she knew what she was on about. She said I can see a little willy then she showed us and said that's the scrotum etc!
Weve been and bought a blue teddy and blue outfit.
Do you think I'm safe to be buying blue?
Xx

Trust me i've had 3 if they can see well enough to point out the various bits its pretty definite as long as you are far enough along (at 20 weeks i could see for myself he was a boy). I have heard stories of wrong ultra sounds from bad angles and cords in they way but techs don't usually say unless they are sure and the one behind would have had eyes on the whole time. Chances of it being wrong in my opinion are slim, enjoy shopping

Yes boys are way more definite than girls. If there was a senior tech behind the newbie I would trust it. I have known 1 person that was told boy and ended up with a girl while I know several that were told girl and got boys.

I think at 20 weeks it would be pretty unlikely they would get it wrong, as the others have said I've heard it is more typical to say it is a girl because they can't see any boy bits and it turns out to be a boy.
Have you got any more scans? xDS1 - 4.5yrsDS2 - 3yrs
