I decided i will start my girl sway in January(which i am excited aboutas of now lol) I wanted to know is Oranges ok to eat? Also what brand/kind of salad dressing is ok to use. With my boys i used Ranch which i know probably will not be a good kind to use. Also i wasn't a fruit/veggie type person with my boys and plan to be this time around and hope this sways girl just by eating more better and not snacking.

hey,
Oranges are okay but if you follow the lower nutrient theory you wouldn't want to eat them more than a couple of times a week satsumas would be better, re dressings i'm in the uk but diet ones that fit in your daily allowences are great. A diet ranch might be okay xx

Oranges are fine. Pretty much all veg and fruits are fine with a few exception like avocados which are very high in fat. You can have any salad dressing you like as long as it fits in your calorie/fat limits, but dressings can be a huge calorie source so sticking to reduced fat/diet ones are a good idea.
You've got to remember that fertility nutrients are NOT the same as heart healthy nutrients. We're used to thinking of fruits and veg as 'healthy' because we live in an era where obesity is an enormous problem. Ironically enough, for TTC, your body craves fats and protein. Nature increases your fertility when you have access to a lot of meat and fats. For example, girls are going through puberty earlier because they eat too much junk at too young an age. Junk food is extremely high in meat and sat fats, which is what increases estrogen and fertility.
So this is why we don't even bother counting calories, vitamins, nutrients, or anything in fruits and veg. We do count calories in starchy veg like potatoes. But have as many oranges as you like, just have them during a meal and don't snack. You really cannot possibly eat enough oranges to make a sway difference, you'd get the runs long before that.Me (38) and DH (38)

They're good in moderation, even as often as every day.
Ranch is fine too - the whole point is that you are just lowering your food intake and nutrients overall, there aren't any magic foods that you absolutely can't have.
I had full fat mayo quite frequently when I TTC DD.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
