Hi all,
Not sure if I am worrying over nothing but I am a ftm and can't get this out of my head.
At 12+2 baby had CRL of 54mm and at 13+3 it was 57mm.
I had 2 early scans so they are spot on with age of baby.
My worry is that compared to all advice books etc shouldn't my little bub be about 70mm?
I'm 14 weeks today and have heard hb since 11 weeks so all is good with that and baby is healthy and active on scans.
Am I being silly? Will baby catch up?
Midwife wasn't concerned at all but I can't help but think something is not quite right. has anyone been in this position? how did things turn out?
thanks for any advice xx

When you had your scan did they tell you the date baby was measuring? Was it close to your real date? I think the midwife would say if she thought something was wrong. I am a little worried about the size if my baby but I found out that anywhere between 10 and 90 percentile is fine, that's a large variance.
Maybe the books are measuring head to feet and your scan is head to bum?13 years

Hi glory,
Got bfp on 10th Dec. Cycle was all over the place so midwife said i was 5 weeks. Scan on 27th December measured CRL of 6.1mm so my midwife was wrong by a week. on 27th Dec hospital said I was 6w 3 days.
I had another on 15th Jan and baby was on track based on the last measurement (dint have crl for that one)
Scan on 4th Feb showed CRL of 54mm and I was dated as 12w 2 days and given a due date of 17th August.
This is what is confusing me as my friend is due 19th August and her baby is 10mm so I'm a little confused about all this.
Ive been told your due date wont change after you are given it at your 12 week scan.
I don't want to call midwife for advice as I feel the ladies answering the phone are really unsympathetic and seem to talk down to everyone.
Tried looking at growth charts online etc but cant find anything about small baby for my stage.
Xx

According to my software ( which is what doctors and midwives use) all your measurements are correct within a day or two on those measurements for a due date of 15-17 August. It doesn't even go past a CRL above 64mm which is 13 weeks. Remember that CRL is head to bum so not the same as the length of the baby if it was stretched out flat head to toe which is what a lot of the pregnancy sites mention.
Babies at that stage grow at a fairly steady rate and its only after 20 weeks that the big differences start coming through. If you have seen a heartbeat and there are no other issues like bleeding, I think you can be fairly confident that your baby is doing fine in there. Good luck.
P.S: I'm a midwife in case it helps
