So as I was sitting here stuffing my mouth with yet another cookie and thinkig of how I totally screwed up my sway this month with all the eating I've been doing, I was wondering if we had any stats on boy vs girl births in August and September. You figure lots of people, swaying or not, would eat more than normal from Thanksgiving (for those in the US) through Christmas/New Years. So that should send a message to your body that times are good, right? Wouldn't that sway towards boys in that time? I wonder if there are more boys born in August/September as a result....

Maybe you could add a vote. August birth boy/girl and Sep birth boy/girl but leave a note for it to be for peoples prior to swaying births so it shows what is naturally happening

I got my girl in August, an aunt and and my sister is born early Sept.
Also my husband.
I think it may go beyond just what people are eating, there may be something to the changes in day length or possibly the amount of Vit. D you got during the summer that may sway.
It can be hard to tell trends like that because there are preemies, people using Clomid, and all sorts of other stuff going on. We'd really need a study with tens of thousands of participants without any premature births or ART to see if there were any trends like that.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

I can't figure out how to put a vote on it.
That's very true though about all the other variables. I didn't think about premies, clomid etc. I was just thinking of the completely non swayers, straight up got pregnant during those months. My oldest was born in September and is a boy.

I have an august boy, but then i am an august girl. I also have a june boy and a jan boy and am pregnant (fingers crossed) with a june/july girl (although she was conceived on clomid). I'm really not sure the timing thing works. I caught with my first boy at my lowest ever weight (was really underweight from illness, surviving off not very much at all) in April BUT was doing a tonne of boy friendly things to (like vitamins and essential fatty acids (omega 3, 6 and 9) and allsorts of other supplements to get my body back to health, as well as moderate exercise).
There are also girls on here (like Mocha) who conceived their dd's in the winter too. I think although eating habits do change with the seasons which may affect the gender, a good sway can turn your odds around (plus one cheat on christmas day or thanks giving can't undo all of the good of months on the LE diet). Good luck with your sway
