Since we have started swaying I have been pretty naive. I never really thought that I might not get pregnant right away. With DD I was very young (17) and it was one day out of the month that we had sex and I ended up getting pregnant. (Didn't think I could because I wasn't even off the pill for a full month!) So I have just been assuming that this time around I will become pregnant right away and all I have to worry about is whether or not my sway worked. DD is going to be 6 soon and I already feel like I waited too long. I am really starting to freak out about having trouble conceiving. For the past 3 years DH and I haven't used any birth control but we have been very meticulous with the "pull out" method. Now I am wondering if one of these times over the past 3 years it should have just happened on accident! Have any gotten pregnant right away with each child or at least the first 2? Or did it seem harder the 2nd time around?

My first two were "surprises" (DS2 was also the first month off BCP) DS3 was planned but again first month off BCP. DD was tried for and it took 5 months because I was not ovulating or getting my period because I was still BF DS3. My two miscarriages were also surprises, and this one was the first month (well two weeks actually) after my secon miscarriage. So the only one who took more than one month was DD.
Thank you God and Our Lady

We used the pull out method for years and never got pg except when we wanted to. Pull out is pretty darn effective (somewhere there is a study that shows this.) I had my first two boys when I was 21 and 25 and then waited 13 years before having 3 more and didn't really have trouble getting pg with any of them, even my last one at 41 only took 6 months. At 24 years old, you are in the peak of your fertility, actually better than when you were 17.

I would try not to worry, I know that is easier said than done though! Pull out is actually pretty effective as long as the guy has enough self control and has urinated since the last time he ejaculated (otherwise the pre cum can contain sperm). The reason we all hear that it is not a good method is because many men (teens in particular, which is the age group they start to talk about birth control with) don't always have enough self control to pull out...because of this they just tell everyone it is not effective.
We did NTNP for a couple years before getting DD and now we are on month 4 of actively ttc. I don't think we are overly fertile but I'm hoping that being more proactive about ttc will cut the time down this time.

We conceived our DS in the first month of trying and since having him, I've stopped taking BC and have always used pull out method. We never even worried about getting preggo as this method works pretty well for us lol

First off thank you everyone for sharing your personal experiences with conception! It really calmed me down. Seems like everyone has their own individual average amount of time that it takes to be able to get pregnant but that it stays consistent. I also had no idea that the pull out was really that effective. Well I mean I knew because obviously it has work for us for so long but I didn't know it was actually a safe method and seemingly popular method! I should go give DH a big kiss for being "master of his domain" haha! And Atomic I had NO IDEA that at almost 24 I am more fertile now than I was when I was 17. I thought it would for sure be the other way around. That was a great little piece of information for you to share. Made my whole morning!

DS1 took 8-9 months to concieve. DS2 was concieved first month trying.
I have been on diet for quite som time, and been on BCP, not pregnant first month off BCP, not even second. Will be making attempt #3 in a few days. Seems harder when you are swaying, because there is so much planning and supplements to do. Wish I could just relax about it the last time. But it is all worth it if I get mylittle girl!
Loosing hope a bit and wondering if it will take 6 months...8 months...or longer
who knows...
