Hi'ya,
So I just bought the 21 day meal plan, and have the gist of things, its quite a tough diet to stick to when your used to eating loads! i have always had a boy friendly diet
I just wondered - i am a bit of a carb lover, as long as i am sticking to the 'lower' rule, can my diets consist of mainly things like small portions of pasta with a little salt free butter or extra low fat cream cheese, i am worrying about needing things like pottasium or other nutrient? or is there enough of those things in the foods above?
i love weight watchers pitta bread with low sodium butter, and all kinds of vegetable type soups, are they too nutritious or i am hoping long as i am keeping my overall food consumption low, i am okay?
i have started drinking loads of diet cola variations, and using aspartame in my tea instead of sugar.
will also drink a few cups of pep tea each week, is a few enough? will avoid drinking them through o. or after.
does anyone think this sounds okay and within the l.e guidelines? xxx
thanks!

Hi!
I haven't been able to purchase the meal plan (boo) so not exactly sure what options it includes, but what you have written seems right to me. I am no expert mind, so I hop others will chime in.
Are you using anything to monitor your fat and protein intake, like MyFitnessPal? Basically as long as you are within your daily limits for the day, you can eat what you like! I often have baked potato (not the skin) and add in light phili and a tiny bit of butter. Personally I am going for high salt intake as I find it easier to manage the diet/carbs with loads of salt, lol!
I am not sure about Pep tea consumption as I cant mix it with BCP. Are you taking Saw Palmetto? You shouldn't mix the two is all. I *think* you need to have quite strong tea for it to be effective.
The soups should be fine - but that is where the 'scanner' part of MFP is great as you get the exact nutritional value added to your day.
The Weight Watchers stuff would be great.
Its not necessarily about low food consumption, but more about keeping to those protein/fat and cal limits.
I find the lack of snacking hard!!!
I hope I have helped!xLove my Boys

Thank you! I am using my fitness pal, I am definitely keeping within the calories, but how do you check the other limits? sodium, carbs, protein? are all these equally important, or is keeping under the calorie limits the main thing?
Not using any supplements, and dont intend too, with my IG sway I took a lot of vitamin b6 and cranberry supplements and got twin boys!! my husband is gonna stop eating red meat and have a low dose LR (he is 36)
....I just think for me with winter coming up, a tin of soup at lunch times with a weight watchers pitta will feel sooo yummy! but hopefully with it just being soup it will help with the weight loss, which i have always struggled with...
i'm drinking peppermint tea, a few times a week, shall i have a cup a day? i dont know when i am gonna ovulate as i've just had a loss, i was 17 weeks so just charting my cycle as best i can. i think i read i stop drinking the pep tea at ovulation?
i hope i can keep up with the diet, its amazing how hard dieting is, its of such great importance if it helps us sway pink, yet its still sooooo hard when you love food!!! xxxx2009

In the 21 day diet book, in the back you will find the LE Diet Nutshell version and the LE Diet Faq, and I think reading those is going to help make some things more clear for you.
The limits on diet are important to ensure you are getting ENOUGH. It's not meant to be "eat as little as you can forever". So you can't just eat pasta and fat free cream cheese, that's not gonna work. You HAVE to stick within those limits, because otherwise you can make yourself ill and you also need to be able to sustain a pregnancy at the end of this - you need to continue ovulating and have your body feel ok with having a baby.!!! I personally think that sodium is fine to drop from the equation, the only reason I even leave it in the mix is that it is possible to include it. But I got my girl with my husband and I eating scads of sodium and this was after a failed sway with DS 4 where I was limiting it.
For nutrient data, I prefer Self. com over MFP - some of the info on MFP is wrong and it doesn't always have potassium listed, even for foods that have a lot of potassium. Over time you start to get a feel for what you're eating and it becomes easy and you don't need to track any longer.
I do want to let you know that it's important to keep an eye on potassium not because I believe it sways, but because it's really hard to get enough on LE Diet. You need that 2500-3500 mg every day or you can get really ill or even die.
I think soup is fine for LE Diet. My sister lived off lowfat soups before she conceived her daughter, because she had a bad gallbladder and that was about all she could tolerate.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
