Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear this! My cousin's son had a cleft lip. He is now 4 and it has healed so well that you can't even tell. He is a handsome little guy. I'm sure everything will all work out for you guys. Hugs!

Oh no I'm so sorry. My 3rd son (my GD baby) has a mild form of spina bifida. I know a couple people with corrected cleft palate and you can hardly tell (and one of them is a VERY sexy man and the scar is part of the charm!!)

Aww I am so sorry. I have a similar situation. I just found out I am having a girl again (wanted a boy), and I also got news this week something is wrong with baby's intestines.
I had bloodwork done Wednesday afternoon, and still haven't heard back from the doctor. It's killing me not knowing what is wrong or what the outcome will be. And yes, part of me is still a little disappointed about the gender, which makes me feel just awful! I want everything to be OK regardless, but part of me still wishes this was my boy.
Sorry I can't offer any advice, except that I know what you're going through. Praying for both of us and our babies!

I'm sorry about the cleft lip but I want to reassure you that after the repair it will probably look absolutely fine. I had a friend who had a cleft palate repaired as a child and you could only faintly see the scar. It wasn't something I ever, ever would have noticed if she hadn't mentioned it in conversation once. I also have a doctor friend who volunteers as a surgeon for smile train. We are so lucky to live in a time when a cleft is so treatable.

I am sorry. That is so difficult.
You should be nice to yourself and try to separate out your sadness at not getting a girl from your concern over your baby. Both are very legitimate feelings.
We do live in miraculous medical times, I am certain your baby will be ok in time.

I'm sorry your feeling down... My second son was born with a unilateral cleft lip. He is now 8 and gorgeous if I do say so myself. I would be happy to talk you through the surgery process and/or share pictures.
