    Need informations

    Hi Dr Potter,

We made the decision to do IVF/PGD with you in California around Spring 2015 after two wonderful boys, we really want family balancing for our third child.. I will be almost 31 and my husband 36.

    But I'm a little anxious:

-How far in advance do I have to do the pre-tests? Is there any for my husband? Do you know if every man has a 50/50 sex ratio in his sperm?

-About the fact that it may not work at the first attempt (it's a huge amount of money and I don't know if we can do it more than one time...)
That's why I wanted to know above how many follicles available on ultrasound do you cancel the cycle?

-For the medications: I've got my doctor here in France who agrees to follow me for the cycle. Can I have medications reimboursed by my health insurance here? I mean do we have the same meds available in France?

-I saw many girls who had a BFP with a FET and not a fresh cycle. Do you think having a FET increases the success rate comparing to a transfer right after a fresh cycle?

-How much are the fees for a FET?

-Do you have a discount for second or third cycle if the first doesn't work?

-How many days do we have to stay (my doctor/specialist in FIV can follow me as long as needed) for a fresh cycle? And for a freeze-all fresh cycle?

Sorry for all these questions but I really need to plan it to know that it's possible.

    Thank you very much

    Best regards

    Hello Milybaby,

I would suggest completing your pre-testing 3-4 months prior to treatment. This allows enough time to review your results and order your medication. Your husband will need to have a semen analysis and blood work done.

We will monitor your follicular growth while you are still in France. Before you get on a plane to fly to California, I will review your results. If you are having a poor response to the medication we will discuss our options on the phone prior to your departure.

As far as medication, you can attempt to get the medications yourself. You can also contact Fertility2U. This company is located in England and will be able to tell you if your insurance will cover the medication.

With the technology we use today, our FET and fresh embryo transfer pregnancy rates are very close. We do, however, prefer to transfer fresh embryos if possible.

For pricing, feel free to contact our financial coordinator, TanyaS@havingbabies.com.

For a fresh cycle, you will need to stay in California for 13 days. For a freeze-all cycle, you will need to stay in California for 4 full days. You are able to fly home the day after egg retrieval.

    I hope this information helps.

I look forward to meeting you in 2015.

    Best,

    Dr. P
