Families of all boys or all girls that broke the streak and got 1 of the opposite?

Hi everyone! I apologise if this is something that's already been talked about here and it's an old topic but I was just wondering if any of you had all one gender and then went on the have the opposite. I have 5 boys age 8 and under and recently found out we are expecting again. This is my 8th pregnancy tho as I've had 2 early miscarriages in the last 12 months. I'm kind of thinking it would statistically make more sense for this baby to be a girl because all gender streaks have to come to an end eventually don't they?

Yes, many people had all one gender and then had an opposite both with or without gender swaying.

My greatgrandma had 6 girls then 2 boys at the end, my husband's grandma had 5 boys and 1 girl at the end. Michelle Duggar has long runs of both boys and girls that are as long as your run on just boys!

If you think of kids' gender as a coin flip, down to sheer luck, the odds are always 50-50. But there is another statistical theory that says when you flip a coin again and again, the odds of X number of heads in a row is so low that even though the odds do stay 50-50, the odds of an unbroken run is so unlikely that it almost is as if the odds of an opposite do kind of go up over time. Such as, if you were watching someone flip a coin and they got 10 heads in a row, at some point it makes sense to start betting on tails. Not because the odds of any individual coin flip ever vary from 50-50, but just because the odds of 11, 12, 13, etc heads in a row start to become astronomical.

The problem is that we aren't at all convinced that gender IS a coin flip any more, and more and more evidence points to the idea that some of us may be more "set" for one over the other.

Long story short, it's always possible to get the opposite, but there is no real cut and dry answer to your quesiton.
