Is really cereal a big no-no? I know the LE DIET is quite flexible but I read somewhere is not recommended for tttc pink. Most of my friends with girls live off cereal specially instead of dinner or lunch... Since I have 3 boys witha diet very low in dairy, in fact as soon as I get pregnant, all I want is cereal because my body probably needs the calcium.... and I wonder if is worth trying. I apologize if this has been explained before, I'm trying to figure out some meals using what I already have here. (mini wheats!)

I *think* Atomic says to avoid it because it is a highly fortified food and you want the opposite of that. Surely someone else can give more input

Yes we avoid highly fortified foods like cereal. The diet is very flexible and I ate pretty much what I wanted, the only things I avoided were fruit juices and cereal.

Yes, it is REALLY a big no-no. It was the only food ever found in a study to sway, and while I do think it's coincidental to a)eating breakfast and/or b) being vitamin fortified, it's something shown in both studies and our anecdotes to be correlated with boys conceived and best to avoid it.
The idea that calcium sways pink is something that is open for debate. Same study that found cereal swayed blue also showed that moms who conceived boys were eating more calcium on average than those that conceived girls, and several of us got our girls without it after getting boys following the high calcium guidelines for pink. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/tryi...roversial.html Now that having been said, if you are a believer in calcium that is of course your call to make, but I strongly urge you get the high intake of calcium from a supplement and NOT dairy and certianly not breakfast cereal with dairy on it because you are compromising your sway adding extra nutrients.!!!
