Luck Can ibs affect the sperm?

    Hi moms,
My dh has ibs and i just wonder if this condition affect the sperm? If it does, how? Obviously we don't have any problems to get pregnant but we have suffered four miscarriages, our last miscarriage happened two weeks ago.
    Just thinking.

After 4 miscarriages, I would go see a RE. Doing a SA is very simple but you may have something affecting sustaining a pregnancy that needs to be identified.

Thanks, i know nuthinkbutpink. But that wasn't my question.. Sorry.. But in Sweden you "must" have three miscarriages in a row before that's possible. Crazy, i know. We got our daughter the third time..
Now i'm just curious if ibs affect the sperm.. A thought that crossed my mind.

Possibly sperm count but that would not cause a miscarriage. A miscarriage is due to your lining or a chromosome issue which most times is due to the egg but can come from the sperm. From what I have read, IBS won't affect the DNA...just count possibly but getting pregnant doesn't seem to be your issue. Sorry you cannot get help.

IBS hasnt been 100% shown to effect sperm, however if hubby is on certain medications to treat the condition that could definitely effect it.

LOL should have read whole thread before answering.

The honest truth is that we really do not know everything that might effect sperm health or cause miscarriage. It may be you, it may be him, it may be a combination, it may have been something different every single time, and it may jsut be very bad luck.

FX that 3rd time is the charm again!!!
