Ultrasound question for expert nub guesser

I have gone through tons of confirmed boy nubs and girl nubs, just comparing them to mine, what I would like to know is why do the boy nubs (sometimes even girl nubs) where they image as a straight line and a bump why do some of them look detached ? Some look slightly detached with a shadow in between but some look clearly detached one from the other why is this when obviously they are not??

It's just the way that they are imaged, ultrasounds image in layers so sometimes if that angle isn't right then the image won't show I believe, although am sure someone more technical will explain it better. If you wish to pop your pic up someone can take a guess . X

I think the quality of the machine, movement, angle and the experience of the technician all contribute to the quality of the image and bits looking attached and unattached. The sound waves read the image in linear lines. So something slightly out of that line can look distorted. I'm no expert though

movement has a lot to do with it as well as the angle of the image. For boys its a question of anatomy during development. You can't ask for a better shot than this as an example. This was my DS Look at the shape and you will see the more slender part behind the actual head and from the right angle with too much movement especially on a lower quality machine (this was a top of the line) its going to look detached on the thinner part.
