I have looked eveywhere and cannot find info about it. Does anyone know how to read the maternal serum test in second semester at 16 wks. My hcg seems low but maybe not I am not sure but what I have found on MoM hcg that seems really low.
Maybe the lab at the clinc does it weird?
Here is the results
Patient's uE3 .82 ng/mL
Patient's hCG 4514 IU/L
Patient's AFP 29 ng/mL
MoM for uE3 .96
MoM for hCG .11
MoM for AFP .91
it said My interpitation was normal but I know labs can make mistakes I would just like to know what the numbers mean. The MoM's did not have any metric unit behind it. What is patient's? I now know what MoM means? The Patient's hcg and afp are only whole numbers the rest are all decimals.
Thanks

I think that if the results say normal, go with that! Don't start worrying over lab mistakes etc because there's really not too much they can do about it anyway. Good luck!!!

Thank you much for replying
....I know I need to just take the test as is and be happy with normal result but the low hcg is worrying me (I know hcg starts declining at a point but 4500 is still really low for almost 16 wks) and this clinic has made plenty of mistakes with me before and when I ask the nurse things she really can't tell me what things mean.
