Swaying and chemical pregnancy

I'm just wondering if there 's any proof that swaying and having a chemical pregnancy are linked?there may already be something on here that I can't find so I thought I'd ask.I've never had one before and this is my first time swaying,I seem to read about quite a few of these stories and wonder if theres a link.is there a reason that some can't have a certain gender?even though this is just a 1st time experience for me,I find it hard to get it out of my head that this won't happen again.sorry if this thread is depressing,maybe there's someone who can give me hope,like if you have had a chemical whilst swaying but still had a good outcome?

Jane I'm so sorry! I just saw this. I don't have any wisdom on the chemical pg and swaying but I'm sorry you're going through this I do think it has been discussed before though so I might go have a look and see if I can find anything for you.

it's natural to want to look for a cause, but often there isn't one. I know I did everything "right" during my first pregnancy and my baby died at 11 weeks (not swaying)... I also had friends who had a similar loss who had perhaps smoked a few, etc, and they were kicking themselves wondering if that was the cause, but really it is usually down to a failure to implant properly or a chromosome problem in the baby. I've also got several friends who were not swaying and who also had a chemical pregnancy, and then went on to conceive again very fast and carried full term the next time.

As for swaying potentially causing MCs, I think if swaying blue you are reducing chances of this happening because some of the supplements ensure that the uterine lining grows smoothly which means implantation is "easier".
Swaying pink and taking antihistamines around OV day or the following day could cause the egg to become an ectopic pregnancy because you might dry up the CM which normally helps the egg into/through the fallopian tubes, but I believe the chance of that is very slim.

Generally if it's a healthy baby and it has implanted, there's very little you can do to shift it. 25-30% of pregnancy ends in MCs, so chances are it was just bad luck, not that that makes it any easier to come to terms with.

My m/c weren't from swaying either but since I have had 4 I did beat myself up that they were probably all girls and I just can't carry any girls, but after reading that article I see that its not true, majority of m/cs happen in the first 7wks once past the 7th wk you chances just drop slightly(like 1%) and seeing a heartbeat drops it a some too, and of course getting out of 1st trimester it drops drastically, but majority of m/c are chromosome abnormality(majority m/c in 7wks), but all my 4 boys pregnancy were healthy no bleeding 1st trimester or anything so you will go and have a healthy pregnancy but since you have experianced a loss it does make the 1st trimester hard to relax and enjoy it, its sad, its something no one should experience *hugs*

Hey Jane, the girls above are exactly right.....I had a chemical the month before I conceived my DD1 (no swaying back then), and then had a chemical earlier this year, then a 10wk loss like rainbow...my doc told me most women have at least one chemical in their lifetime, even if they know it or not. I would not have known with my very first except for taking a FRER before my period was due. I had the chemical only a week after my period was due, so if I wouldn't have tested, I would have just thought it was late, kwim? But there is only a 25% chance of any couple conceiving each month, and of those that do conceive, like rainbow said, at least a quarter end in m/c. Crazy that so many healthy babies are even born throughout the history of time, right?

Don't worry about it....if it happens, it happens and is likely because of chomosomal abnormality anyway, so nature's way, so to speak. You can't blame yourself or swaying or anything, it is just a common fact of life. But hey, no reason to worry unless you know there is a reason to worry!!!

thankyou all, i will read the post on the myth of swaying and mc though because i still feel like maybe i cant carry a boy and the reason i want another is for a boy or at least try,if i get another one of these though im out, i just cant take something like this

Jane, it is hard, I know believe me. I have the same feelings, that if I have another m/c, I will just take it as a sign that I am not to conceive. However, I've had 2 in a row now, so don't you give up hope yet. Also, I am thinking that the issue with not being able to carry a gender is with girls and not boys because it is some specific disorder....I can't remember now. But it is SUPER rare. I know how it is easier to try to find something to blame for a m/c, but there is usually only one thing to blame, and that is just the cruel laws of mother nature. So try to keep yourself positive as you grieve through this and try to get excited to try again. The vast majority of women who have a chemical go on to have a normal healthy baby very very soon! I conceived my DD1 just 2 weeks after my 1st chemical, and so do lots of people! HUGS, hope you are doing alright. xxoo

The PPs are right, chemicals are very common and back in the days before EPTs, we just never would have known about them. I actually think I've had two in my life but I didn't realize it at the time, only after I got educated about my cycles did I realize what must have happened. Neither time was when I was swaying.

That having been said, I do personally believe that chemicals ARE more common among swayers, although I can't prove it without an indepth analysis, of course. Some of the stuff, esp. the traditional swaying stuff (like O+12 and high sodium diet) is extremely unfriendly for conception. A LOT of the swayers I knew from IG had a chemical and then went onto have a perfectly healthy baby, both of their DG and opposites...so both genders were conceived after chemicals.

Re: your other question...there IS a very very rare and unusual set of genetic diseases that can make it harder but not impossible for couples to conceive baby boys. It is very unlikely that you suffer from one of these disorders but it is good to know about them just in case. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/show...of-that-gender!

Well, it's certainly not a myth, but it is very rare.
